Vollenhove is a cute little city. There is ample shopping within a five minute walk of the house. The place is excellent for exploring the wider surroundings. Zwolle is a great city at about a half hour drive. There are also lots of other nice destinations nearby, like Kampen, Urk, Lemmer, and all kinds of beautiful watery landscapes (rivers, IJsselmeer, polderlandscapes, peat extractions etc.) giving you a historic crash course in how-to-build-the-netherlands. Amsterdam is only slightly over an hour away too.

Clear up front communication by the hosts, easy to find, only a short walk from the parking place. Well equipped kitchen with coffee machines and coffee and plenty of dishes and cutlery. The WiFi met the high standards of my children. Only a short walk from the tourist centre of Giethoorn and with an electric boat for rent that will work out cheaper than the places in the centre depending on how often you want to use it. Central heating works well and quickly.

Great location away from the centre - exactly what we where looking for.
Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
The house was very cozy and had everything necessary to spend a weekend.

I read some comments complaining about the noise of the water pump: people, it is a boathouse. If you want the commodities of a vila, go and rent a vila, not a boat.

We are very satisfied with this place! Small, but cozy room on the water with beautiful view. In the flat there are everything for comfortable staying! We liked it a lot!
