An automated check in/check out system but the managers are very good with their communication and instructions. The property is set up so that it is possibly to put together simple meals. Washing machine and a little balcony for drying.
It’s in a residential area not far from the station and the ferry docks. Onomichi itself is a really interesting town , a nice temple walk in the hills behind it and of course is a jumping off point for the Shimanami Keido.

This house was perfect. It had everything we needed and was very a relaxing place to stay. We were able to walk to restaurant, bike hire and ferrys. The host recommended two restaurants that proved to be next level in food and atmosphere. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more.

The building had an antique and rustic feel to it, and we thought the design and use of space was really smart and creative. The indoor and outdoor lounge spaces for guests were very cozy and the host was kind to tell us more about the concept behind the guesthouse and give us recommendations for the area. Onomichi is so lovely, we easily could have stayed another day! Our room was very comfortable and spacious too.
We stayed at singai cabin only one night before riding the shimanani kaido and it was all in all a good experience. We stayed in a 4-bed dorm with a shared bathroom. The hostel helped us to organise the luggage transfer to imabari.
The room was cozy and very well-equipped - several power points for us to charge our devices and e-bike batteries, hangers for clothes, bath/face towels and various amenities. The host was welcoming and he gave us a tour of the rooms. He provided us with a list of restaurants and their opening hours which was so helpful since most places in the vicinity close early (we visited one of them for dinner)!
Communication was excellent. Easy check-in process. A beautiful and charming old building that has been lovingly restored and continues to be lovingly cared for. Everything was available for use and it was a comfortable stay.
Pretty rooms in a restored hundred-year-old building. Super helpful staff (thank you for the ramen recommendation!), with a charming cafe downstairs, and clean shower, kitchen, and laundry facilities. The views were astounding-- wake up early enough and you can watch the sun rise over the mountains and the city! Absolutely loved staying here.
