We loved our stay at the Machiya. Our host Hitty gave us the best welcome. The facilities are very good and it is amazing to have a house to yourself. We loved the closeness to the station and the city is a 15 min walk away. It was very clean and well provided. We would recommend this to everyone.

This property was the most comfortable and traditonal place we stayed on our trip to Japan. The house itself was an attraction, we didn't want to leave! The traditional tatami rooms, zen garden and decor were beautiful and made the property feel really cozy. I wish we were able to stay longer. The host Michio was wonderful, and even picked us up from the train station (which was good considering how hot it was!) The location is wonderful, close to the Omicho Market and Kanazawa Castle.

The place was just amazing! Big and comfortable! Previous reviews are 100% accurate. Highly recommend! If you stay in the main bedroom, make sure to turn on the night light then turn off to experience the moon and stars on your ceiling! The garden was also beautiful. Excellent location and very spacious house for our family. The facilities were very clean and comfortable. Check in was simple steps and easy. We particularly liked the washing machine - which surprised us as it was a washer & dryer and made it super easy for us to clean and dry our clothes in the very hot summer days! Cute guesthouse that brings many travels together in the common room. They have a little outside area in the backyard, which is very cozy. They have a kitchen with stove and a soft drink machine.
Although it was an additional cost: the sauna, hot bath and cold bath on the top floor were amazing. In a great location for exploring the Korinbo and Nagamachi districts. The rooms are very cosy. Staff were really welcoming and polite.

Shared toilet and showers, both kept very clean. Access to sauna which was nice after walking the whole day. No lift, only stairs. Beds very comfi.
The hosts are great and very helpful. The hotel is super cozy and comfortable. We slept in a traditional room with tatami, which was quite big. You can use the common bathroom (hot tub) as a private one, which is also quite nice.
