The hosts, Francesco and Marie are good people and will help you in any way they can. No one speaks English here but you can get by easily with Google Translate on your mobile.
The local town is Iglesias. Life stops around 1pm in the summer and then resumes around 7pm. There are good eating places and supermarkets around. There are plenty of harbours and beaches to explore locally for marine life. Don't expect to see much marine life in the summer though.
