Ballyroe Accommodation, hotel in Skibbereen

Offering a terrace and garden view, Ballyroe Accommodation is situated in Leap, 13 km from St Patrick's Cathedral, Skibbereen and 28 km from Lisellen Estates.

Fabienne and Roland were very helpful with our enforced late arrival time, leaving the accommodation open pending our arrival (01.00!). The instructions for gaining entry were clear, and our breakfast items were waiting for us. We found the beds were very comfortable, and water was always hot for showering and dishwashing. For those who are looking for a place in the country, this may be your bag; nevertheless, it is a conveniently short run to the main road (N71). Overall we feel that the price we paid was reasonable, particularly as we had the benefit of two separate rooms, but it has to be said that the property is in need of a re-furb, particularly as regards the shower arrangement. It pains us to be critical, with such pleasant hosts as Fabienne and Roland, but future guests need to be aware of the shortcomings as outlined below.

The apartment itself is very spacious and has everything you need for a self-catering holiday. The grounds are like an Aladdin's Cave with lots to see and discover, including; Hot Tub, Exercise Dojo, Outdoor Table Tennis and other social areas. Located 10 minutes from Skibereen and located in rolling countryside, it is great value for money and more like a home from home than a hotel break would be.

The location is incredible. The lake, the grounds, the amazing old trees and beautiful shrubs are just so peaceful. Our room in the Lake House was great. The bed was very comfortable, lovely shower, lots of filtered water provided. Our favourite part was the sauna. For €40 we had our own private sauna for 90 minutes, located right on the lake so you can go in and out for a cooling swim and then sit in the heat looking out at the idyllic lake. Breakfast was good and staff were helpful, professional and friendly. We will definitely be back.

Comfortabele cottage in cosy style, big enough for us as a couple but could also fit a family with children. Very warm welcoming host, with lots of tips for the region, including tip for the local bar with live music on Thursday night! Skibbereen is just a short car trip away for restaurants or groceries. Good bed and shower, even has washing machine. Very quit surrounding.

We loved staying here, even though it was for just one night. The pod is located in a garden setting with beautiful, well presented gardens and little pathways throughout. The pod itself was cosy and warm, thoughtfully decorated and with a super comfortable bed. Bathrooms were new and modern, with a powerful shower (always important). The location is a bit out of the town, so perfect if you want to get away from the buzz. The place also has an optional sauna and hot tub, which we didn't get to try out sadly.
