Magpie homestay & jungle trekking ,only those who trekking with us, hotel in Bukit Lawang

Magpie homestay & jungle trekking, only those who trekking with us is situated in Bukit Lawang. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi.

- Bungalow about 60 square meters. It is a small house with 2 rooms and 2 beds. - Quiet There is only one bungalow. Located outside and not near the noisy center or a noisy mosque. - Comfortable double bed -Friendly female manager organized the 5-day private jungle tour, advised me (group or private) and answered all my questions. I didn't have to do anything. - Small kitchen with good food in a beautiful location by a small pond. - Drinking water available - Female manager went on a short hike with me on the first day. - Female manager speaks good English and can organize a private taxi to Medan. - Breakfast at 5:30 a.m. is possible if you ordered a private taxi to Medan at 6 a.m. - Good 5-day private jungle tour If you want to do something that will stay in your memory for the rest of your life, you should do the jungle tour. The longer the better, but exhausting. On the 2nd, 3rd and 4th day I didn't see any other tourists. If you are not a 25 year old strong young man, I recommend the private jungle tour. Then you can go at your own pace and don't have to adjust to others about speed, route or breaks. - Good food on the jungle tour, I didn't get any stomach problems. - Friendly guide and 2 friendly guide assistants - Guide spoke good English. - You should bring: Waterproof shoes if you are doing it for more than 3 days. You can buy them up to size 42 in Bukit Lawang. I walked along the river for 2 days with my sturdy flip-flops. Most importantly: You should walk with 2 sticks. The guide gave me 2 bamboo sticks. Without these sticks I would have fallen in the river several times a day (very slippery stones, strong current). Rain poncho, which the guide can buy for you in Bukit Lawang. Sun hat Closed shoes: sneakers or hiking boots Thin long pants (no heavy, tight and thick blue jeans) Any medication you might need (diarrhea, antibiotics for infected wounds, insect repellent, paracetamol, Micropur Forte for drinking water to be on the safe side, ...

Lucky Bamboo' Bungalows-Resto and OrangUtan Jungle Trekking Tours, hotel in Bukit Lawang

Situated on the seafront in Bukit Lawang and boasting a garden, Lucky Bamboo' Bungalows-Resto and OrangUtan Jungle Trekking Tours has free WiFi. The property has river and garden views.

If you are looking for a luxurious 4 or 5 star hotel experience and buffet breakfast with all the trimmings but without a real welcome feeling, do not book this accommodation.  BUT If you want to stay in a budget bungalow in a very family environment where the family also lives, then I can absolutely recommend this small hotel (bungalows). Owner Jhonny is very concerned with the well-being of his guests and the rest of the people you see there are also very friendly and helpful. The small garden is also very well maintained so you will not see any plastic lying around.  Everything you ask Jhonny is arranged and you can assume that it is ok, such as a very good guide and helper (Rasta and Pandy) for the jungle trekking. He also responds very quickly if you send him a message.  The points for improvement are perhaps to empty the bin in the bungalow every 2 days (also toilet paper in it) and then also provide a clean towel. I am sure that if you ask this it will happen immediately but I think that as a guest you should not have to ask this.  Breakfast is simple, just ask for something simple like banana pancake with chocolate sauce but do not expect an extensive buffet, that is not possible for the price you pay for the night. Wifi is very good.  Also important: you are on the quiet side of the river where no motorized traffic can come but still only a 5 minute walk from the many restaurants on the other side (via the suspension bridge).  What is incorrect in the room description on Booking.com is that there would be a minibar in the room but you can get cold drinks there.  This place is an absolute must for the budget traveler.

Namo Samsah Jungle Paradise - Riverside Nature Bungalow, hotel in Bukit Lawang

Situated in Bukit Lawang in the Sumatra region, Namo Samsah Jungle Paradise - Riverside Nature Bungalow has a patio and river views. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking.

This is an absolutely lovely oasis not too far from convenience store (about 20-30mins scenic jungle walk and river crossing [on bridge]. If you’re looking for a quiet place to just enjoy the nature and surroundings in complete privacy, then this is the place. It’s comfortable, and Tirta is always reachable and nearby. He helped A-Z from transportation, to organizing activities, to preparing the house to suit our special needs. For food, Tirta helped arranged food delivery whenever his mom wasn’t around and there’s some amazing food in the restaurants nearby too - walking distance (I walk with my baby). It’s a perfect place for a nature getaway!

Sumatra Orangutan Treks Villa & Eco jungle trekking activity, hotel in Bukit Lawang

Located in Timbanglawang, Sumatra Orangutan Treks Villa & Eco jungle trekking activity offers accommodation with seating area. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking.

We did a one-day trek with Mowgli and Anto and had a wonderful experience. They are both very knowledgeable and friendly. From our research beforehand, we were not totally confident that we would actually get to see the orangutans but we, with their expertise, we were incredibly lucky and spent about an hour looking at orangutans at two separate points which was a really wonderful experience. Anto was particularly good at always ensuring that we had the best view possible. The trek to see the orangutans can be quite steep at times so we wouldn't recommend this trip for anyone with walking difficulties. The trip included a snack which included lots of fruit and we also had a wonderful lunch, both of which were beautifully presented. Finally, the tour ended with a trip along the river in a raft which was excellent fun and gave amazing views of the forest and the villages alongside it. In short, this was a brilliant experience and we'd really recommend it!

Great cabins to stay. These cabins and the whole property look great. Don’t expect a huge 5-star hotel, but a cozy lodge with 4 cabins. Jay is a great host. He can also arrange transport from and to Medan (airport), and excursions to the jungle (e.g. 2 day jungle tour with sleeping in the jungle).

Wow the bungalows in the middle on the jungle are something unique. A mother and baby orangutan were sleeping right next to my cabin and lots of other monkeys passing regularly. Nice breakfast options (pay extra), friendly staff and clean room. Also wifi pretty good considering how remote it is.

It is a very cosy bungalow. It was clean as one can expect in the Jungle. You need to bei aware that it is a bit away from the center up the hill (300 steps), but that also means it is calm and quiet. You can sit on the veranda and watch animals. If you are looking for such an experience, it is perfect

Very charming and cozy spot situated in the heart of Bukit Lawang. My husband and I stayed in one of the bungalows and it exceeded our expectations! Very private, clean, and comfortable. The staff were also incredible and arranged a very special birthday meal and celebration for one of my friends that was traveling with us. Would absolutely recommend to anyone staying in Bukit Lawang!
