Very good location within easy walking distance of Rydal Water, good walks Rydal Hall and Rydal Mount. Also bus stop just out side the Lodge gives access to Keswick, Ambleside, etc.
The building and grounds are picturesque and so very Lake District. The staff were all friendly and very helpful.
The room, while basic, was comfortable and peaceful. It’s in a great location with ease of access to many places and is opposite Wordsworth’s cottage!
I was staying at the front of the hotel and the WiFi was superb.
The presentation of the stunning grounds and the backdrop of hills and mountains made the stay exceptional.
It was a very quiet setting - very desirable away from busy lifestyle.
The attached cottage cafe added to the pleasure of staying in the hall.
The evening menu was substantial and nicely presented.
All staff were very courteous and went the extra mile to help make us welcome.
The bus transport made access to local towns very appealing.
Wooden cabin was nice and cosy with the wood burner inside and open fire outside. Great views and kitchen area was simple but sufficient. Nice high ceiling and the unlimited wood (that we had to pay extra for) worked out well and allowed a fire whoever we wanted.
The location was amazing. Beautiful view from cabin 3. Remote and rustic. We had the log fired spa, sauna and hot tub to and that was an absolute treat.
We stayed in cabin 3 in april the cabin is very cosy. The views are amazing the showers and toilets were very clean and modern, lots of hot water. We would definitely stay again as the pros outweigh the cons
Amazing views, beautifully appointed cabin with great touches such as free firewood and solar panelled lights.Kids loved everything about 'Hagrid's Hut',especially the rope swing! Can walk to so many places so leave the car.
