The breakfast was cooked to order. Two of us were vegetarian, and wanted different meals, the third wanted a traditional English. All came out nicely done and pretty much together. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely stay in Archie. Easy to find and park. Warm and cosy with a comfy bed and a fabulous shower. Saw the red squirrels and hares, lovely views and a handy location for visiting Keswick and Ullswater. An easy 15 minute walk to a village pub for a superb meal.

Great location and lovely lodge with everything we needed. Hot tub was lovely once we got the hang of it! Make sure you take plenty of kindling, fire lighters and logs. Once we got it to temperature (took about 4 hours) it then was much quicker to get warm the following day and even stayed warm over night so we could go in the next morning.

Very comfortable, spacious and cosy warm room, which was spotless. Our room was above the bar but we couldn't hear much noise from downstairs and it was a busy night. Good supply of tea and coffee and mini toiletries which were appreciated. The lady we met in the morning was really lovely and she provided us with tea and toast while our breakfasts were being cooked. Our breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Very relaxing start to the day. We had a great one-night stay and would definitely return.

The cottage was lovely it has just had a make over. It was not quite finished but the owner let me know this before we arrived. It did not impact on our stay. There was everything you needed to cater for yourselves if need be!

We were so lucky to find this place. Everything was brilliant. The lodge is an excellent size and comfortable. The view from the lodge was spectacular and the communal facilities were brilliant. We were desperate to have a good stay and thankfully this place delivered and then some! It should also be noted that the location, whilst remote, allowed us to visit the best parts of the Lake District all within short driving distances. Thank you so much for having us. Worth every penny.
