Berwyn Shepherds Hut, hotel in Llanarmon Dyffryn-Ceiriog

Offering garden views, Berwyn Shepherds Hut is an accommodation located in Wrexham, 25 km from Whittington Castle and 25 km from Horseshoe Pass.

I bought my boyfriend the aqueduct canoeing experience as a gift for Christmas so we booked the shepherds hut for our stay. What a glorious corner of the earth! Waking up to the sound of the little creek that runs past the hut & the sound of the sheep is so relaxing. You have no signal so you have a few days away from hectic modern life. The views are absolutely stunning & the stars at night are amazing as there’s no light pollution! You can cozy up by the fire pit & even toast a few marshmallows. Laura was so lovely & helpful & I thank her for sharing her little paradise with us. I would highly recommend the shepherds hut if you’re in the area & wanting a few days “off grid”.

The friendly & helpful host contacted me on arrival day to offer directions, to explain check-in procedures and ask if we needed her to get fresh bread & milk for us. On arrival the house was warm, cosy & very welcoming. I was very impressed with the style and spaciousness throughout, from the beautiful original features to all the modern facilities. Beds were large & comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and basic supplies were plentiful. There was plenty of hot water, and fluffy towels. Everything was clean and traditionally luxurious.

Lovely atmosphere here with friendly helpful staff. Beautiful meals from an award winning chef. There is a small spa (sauna and outdoor hot tub) but due to the rain I didnt use them but I did get a massage from the beautician on site.

Idyllic, welcoming location in the middle of beautiful valleys. Staff were lovely as well as efficient. The book of the hotel has some great walks (although the timings might be a bit off!). The food was incredible. In my top three steaks ever. The hot tub is ideal after an afternoons walk, pre dinner.

They say you should breakfast like a king and you certainly can here! Great choice and the hotel happily refrigerated the lactose-free milk I brought with me. Nerys was wonderful! The hot tub was amazing- what a way to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Beds were so comfortable and the rooms spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Bar area was cosy and staff were helpful and friendly. We ate dinner in the dining room both nights and really enjoyed the food and service- many thanks.
