Sef welcomed us and showed us to our rooms, which were very well equipped, clean and comfortable with beautiful ensuite shower/ toilet.
The optional evening meal was prepared by Shaan and was delicious. Both hosts were warm and welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed.
Breakfast was great with lots of choice.
We stopped off at Newark on our way north and didn't realise how much there is to see and do in the area so will certainly return to Tumbleweed Cottage.
We were waved off by Sef and Shaan and it felt almost like we had been staying with friends.
My mother is partially sighted with mobility issues and found the stair lighting and room layout very manageable.

The chalet has all the amenities for a one or two night stay, overall it was well presented and clean. Having said that the double bed had animal or human hair on the sheets despite appearing clean.

Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
Breakfast was good - brought in from the main house. As a self-contained bed & breakfast unit the cottage was very convenient. The availability of blankets as an alternative to the duvet was brilliant - duvets are disastrously hot unless the weather is totally freezing!
The cottage was immaculately clean, the bed was comfortable and good quality bed linen, bathroom accessories for use were generous and of a good quality ( which makes such a difference ) We enjoyed the attention to detail through out Ivy Cottage…it was just pitched right for us.
We really looked forward to our cooked breakfast …it felt as though it was cooked and served with pride. We were looked after so well by Samantha nothing was too much trouble and always greeted with a smile.
Breakfast brilliant with home made jam. Flexible timing for access and breakfast. The location was beautiful, so peaceful and lovely aspect to the cottage.

Fabulous little place for a getaway! Cosy, clean, peaceful, everything you need and in Samantha, a fantastic host! She brought us an amzing breakfast of choice, with everything fresh. Lovely facilities inside the cottage, which is detached from the main house, and so quiet! Laxton is a beautiful village and the pub across the road, The Dovecote, serves excellent fare and is warm and friendly. Super and highly recommended!

The cottage was super cosy and comfortable after a relaxing spa day. The host was so lovely and attentive. Bed lovely and comfortable and the place was very very clean. A lovely warm welcome from Samantha upon arrival who also made us the most delicious breakfast the next morning. We had an incredible meal at the Dovecote Inn just across the road in the evening, who again was ran by a lovely gentleman and very friendly waitresses, the food was perfect. all in all I would 100% return to stay again and highly recommend
Lovely cottage, quiet, clean and nothing to complain about. The cottage had everything you need, the bathroom was exceptional including a bath/ shower combination, dressing gowns and more. Big TV in a good sized living room with streaming options (Netflix etc).
Loved being in countryside.
