Isla Rose Cottage, hotel in Kirkton of Glenisla

Set in Blairgowrie, the recently renovated Isla Rose Cottage offers accommodation 22 km from Scone Palace and 31 km from Discovery Point.

Our accommodation at Isla Rose Cottage was like a mini-suite. Comfortable bedroom, nice bathroom and cosy seating area. Good quality bed linen and fluffy white towels. The property was spotlessly clean. The microwave, toaster and kettle together with a great range of crockery, cutlery and glasses meant we could have stayed a week - and we were so comfortable we wished we could have stayed longer than one night. Although located on a main road we were not disturbed by traffic noise and had a great night's sleep in the most comfortable bed of our tour. Off street parking was useful. However the star attraction was the extensive breakfast Filip produced for us. It was beautifully presented selection of fruit, meats, cheese, tomatoes, rolls, bread, jams and syrups - together with fresh scones, pancakes and a selection of prepared fruit (not shown in my photo). There was a great range of teas, coffees and fruit juices. Cereals and yogurts were also available - if you had room! Without doubt the best breakfast of our tour. Filip was an attentive host, interested in our travel plans. He devised a route for us to take in all we wanted to see over the following two days and suggested additional attractions that we had not thought of. We'll definitely be back and stay longer!

Dalmunzie Castle Hotel, hotel in Kirkton of Glenisla

Dating back to 1510, Dalmunzie Castle Hotel lies in the south of the Cairngorms National Park.

The hotel location is special .. remote and beautiful with lovely grounds to walk around. The hotel is quirky and old with a lot of stairs but we enjoyed that uniqueness. The 2 best things were the staff - who are always lovely and very professional - and the food - which is EXCELLENT!

Castleview @ Newton Steading Farm, hotel in Kirkton of Glenisla

Boasting river views, Castleview @ Newton Steading Farm provides accommodation with a garden and a balcony, around 42 km from Discovery Point.

Castleview is an amazing property. The beds are so comfortable, with lovely bedding and shutters in the main bedroom. I noted blackout curtains in the other bedroom too. All 3 bedrooms are ensuite, with beautiful bathrooms. We were able to fully relax and enjoyed the sounds of the countryside, it is such a peaceful place to stay. There was only the 2 of us staying, but the property is enormous so can easily accommodate 6 - 8 people. Anthony is a great host, he has thought of everything, we had a wonderful welcome pack, lovely toiletries, quality toilet rolls, washing powder, fabric conditioner and dishwasher tablets to hand. Full access to cleaning equipment and cleaning liquids. This was our first holiday alone in 19 years now our 4 children have grown up, it was absolutely perfect, I would highly recommend staying here and we will bring the family next time.
