Isla Rose Cottage, hotel in Kirkmichael

Set in Blairgowrie, the recently renovated Isla Rose Cottage offers accommodation 22 km from Scone Palace and 31 km from Discovery Point.

Our accommodation at Isla Rose Cottage was like a mini-suite. Comfortable bedroom, nice bathroom and cosy seating area. Good quality bed linen and fluffy white towels. The property was spotlessly clean. The microwave, toaster and kettle together with a great range of crockery, cutlery and glasses meant we could have stayed a week - and we were so comfortable we wished we could have stayed longer than one night. Although located on a main road we were not disturbed by traffic noise and had a great night's sleep in the most comfortable bed of our tour. Off street parking was useful. However the star attraction was the extensive breakfast Filip produced for us. It was beautifully presented selection of fruit, meats, cheese, tomatoes, rolls, bread, jams and syrups - together with fresh scones, pancakes and a selection of prepared fruit (not shown in my photo). There was a great range of teas, coffees and fruit juices. Cereals and yogurts were also available - if you had room! Without doubt the best breakfast of our tour. Filip was an attentive host, interested in our travel plans. He devised a route for us to take in all we wanted to see over the following two days and suggested additional attractions that we had not thought of. We'll definitely be back and stay longer!

A beautiful hotel in a tranquil location . The twin rooms were more like apartments and very clean and comfortable . The restaurant was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful . It was incredibly good value for money and a highlight of our eight stay trip to Scotland . I couldn't recommend it more highly .

The staff was super friendly, the lodge is comfortable and is very cozy. Location was good and suited very well for our purpose, but can be considered ‘far’ from other things.

The Lodge was really lovely and cosy - the family room was spacious and comfortable, and the honesty bar and the Blue Room with the fireplace was the perfect place to spend some time in the evening.

The cottage was beautifully presented, very warm, comfortable and welcoming. The conservatory was lovely to sit in during late afternoon when it caught the sun and the living room was very cosy with its log burner. The kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed. The garden was large and very private.

so many things to like so imma just quick fire: everyone running the lodge were friendly, personable, and helpful; honesty bar was handy and well-stocked; breakfast tasted great and was portioned generously; the two golden retrievers were outrageously cute, friendly, and well-behaved; property was well decorated inside and out; rooms were clean and cozy— an unexpected abundance of usb wall sockets were thoughtful; beds were sizeable and comfy; bathrooms were bright and spacious

We loved our stay at the lodge! It is situated in a peaceful little town right next to a river. The rooms were clean and cosy and the bed was like sleeping in a cloud. Incredibly comfortable. The honesty bar kept us entertained in the evening as we got to taste multiple whisky's without having to drive anywhere. We stayed for only one night but the lodge would actually be quiet perfect for a longer stay.

My husband and I recently spent four nights at Strathardle Lodge, which far exceeded our expectations. Paul and David are wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make guests feel at home. We were in room 5, a lovely bright double aspect room with views over the countryside, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have had in any hotel. We are already planning a return trip.
