This was a return visit for me as I travel to Kent on business. Pooks Rest is an ideal stop-off for me, quiet and comfortable with excellent facilities (microwave, coffee machine, hob), a comfortable bed and nice shower room. Despite the weather being unseasonably warm, the log burner was lit for me which made the room warm and very inviting after a long drive. It would be a lovely place to stay as a base if visiting Kent.

The house is very spacious and is in an excellent location for the town and for the wedding venue we were invited to. We were a large family group and appreciated having 3 bathrooms. It was particularly convenient that the front door was a number coded key lock so we didn't have to co-ordinate holders of the key!
Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
Starvegoose Cottage was fabulous. We loved the 5 nights we stayed there and would have loved to have stayed longer. The cottage feels like home from home. The surroundings are wonderful. Can’t recommend it enough.
Beautiful location and accommodation, we felt totally at home as soon as we walked through the door. We had a spacious bedroom en-suite and a large hall and sitting room entirely to ourselves plus a garden terrace overlooking paddocks and beautiful Kent countryside. There is a wood burning stove in the sitting room for colder days which is the type of detail which elevates a good stay into an outstanding one.
The rooms were so spacious and decorated beautifully. The hotel is very charming and you feel really at home. Everything was thought about with a variety of teabags, oat milk and even calming spray in the bathroom.
Had everything I needed and more! Staff very friendly and accommodating. I had a great sleep and the location was so beautiful to wake up to in the sunshine. Exceptional value for money!
Beautiful accommodation in a fabulous location - loved the wood burning stove keeping us cosy. Marion the host was very friendly, helpful and provided a delicious cooked breakfast. Would highly recommend.

This was a superb idyllic setting deep into a country estate. So peaceful. We stayed in Starvegoose Cottage -all very comfortable, everything good quality and worked well. Delicious home cooked breakfast. Best of all our young pointer was allowed to run to his hearts content in the owner’s paddock ! So kind! Thank you!
