The cottage was very tastefully decorated. The open plan kitchen/dining room/living room was very spacious. Lighting was very effective and added to atmosphere at night. The view to die for - it even encouraged me to get up early for my morning cuppa.
The owners had thought of everything we might need for our stay, even a backpack, which we had forgotten to pack, came in handy.
Loved the drying room with all the products and facilities. Loved the pottery ware.
I cannot think how the owners could improve. (I do love my baths though)

The location was pretty good, only 9 miles from Stornoway. You can make some easy walks around the cottage, but you can easily reach any other place on Lewis (and Harris).

We have stayed at Tigh Murdag several times now, and we just love it. It's a beautiful, home from home, comfortable and cosy bungalow. It's central to everything we like to do on the island, and when we come back after a day's sight seeing and touring around, you can kick off your shoes and relax ready for tye next day! All being well, we will be back! :)

The house was warm and cosy when we arrived. It was very clean, and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and Ancris was very responsive to our messages. Really enjoyed our three night stay and we would recommend Chapmans to anyone visiting Stornoway.
Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.

Communication upfront was nice and helpful (instructions on how to reach the cabin, how to reach Karen/ Gareth, etc)

Lovely cosy clean cottage in a great location with lovely views. Great hosts who went above and beyond and catered to our needs by providing a cot for our wee girl and leaving loads of little extras for us which was lovely. We loved the cottage! It was immaculate, tastefully furnished with a well equipped kitchen that had a lovely view! The very generous welcome hamper was a lovely thought too! This cottage was absolutely lovely. The fixtures, fittings & soft furnishings were of a very high standard. The cottage was cosy and very comfortable - our hosts had thought of everything. The welcome pack on arrival was an unexpected surprise and very much appreciated by all. The views, and walks to the beach, were stunning as were the visits over the fence from various animals on a daily basis. We all agreed everything was excellently about the property. The cottage is so lovely and cosy with great amenities dishwasher washing machine etc
Also the little touches for arrival that the host included were fantastic milk sugar hot chocolate and specialty coffees were welcomed.
