Although the property is located a few kms from the town, the bus stop was located nearby and the bus ran regularly. We found the number 8 bus from Badger Hill shops to be quick, regular and convenient. We enjoyed a couple of local eateries, the Black Bull pub and Sylhety Lounge (Indian cuisine). The kitchen was great to be able to prepare a meal, and we were able to do a load of washing and hang it outside on the line. Thank you for a pleasant stay in the lovely city of York.

We stayed in the farmhouse as a group of 14 for a Hen Party and it was brilliant. Spacious, comfortable rooms, all the facilities you would need and a wonderful garden out the back. The perfect weekend!

Very well done recent refurbishment, for example small desk in each bedroom, very comfortable sofa, comfortable beds, outdoor table and chairs. Very clean.

Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
Wow! What a lovely cottage, so comfortable and inviting, great facilities everything you could possibly need has been thought of, so quiet and peaceful, the welcome hamper was a lovely touch. Great hot tub, walks, a short drive to York, and other surrounding areas. The owners were lovely and welcoming. Highly recommend The Old Mill Hideaway. We will be back.
Beautiful comfy cottage and very quirky loved the added extras such a great weekend spent in Ellerton nice stop of at the golf course nearby, we were at a family wedding nearby in Thornganby so it was a really lovely house for 6 of us to relax and get ready also a short walk 3 doors away to a great pub very unique and I didn't want to leave
beautiful cottage, beautifully decorated and everything you could need. Every room has more space than you could need. Huge bed, recliner sofa, log burner with wood supplied, sky TV, all kitchen utensils supplied, and even a welcome pack for us and our dog.
