Great breakfast. Beautiful country location. Easy to get to by car but not otherwise very accessible. Great service, comfy lounge area and diner, good food. Very friendly and supportive staff. Even lit the fireplace for us, brought us milk for our little girl at dinner, accommodated our preferences at breakfast and didn’t complain about our slightly late checkout!

It’s old world charm and history. Obviously liked by a lot of people as it was busy both nights of our stay. Lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious both in the evening and at breakfast. Staff very attentive. Our room was clean and cosy. Good parking for our motorbike too. Location fantastic to explore the Lake District.

The hotel is in a quiet, idyllic village and is steeped in history. Our room was large, beautifully decorated and extremely clean. The bathroom was modern and the room had all the facilities you needed. We ate in the restaurant and the food was fabulous as good as you would expect in an al a carte restaurant. Breakfast was excellent with a good range of choice and locally sourced produce. The price was very reasonable compared to other hotels we had booked for our road trip around the lakes and Scottish highlands and was the best!

Gorgeous and exceptionally comfortable space with a cozy electric fire and modern bathroom. The whole place combined the cozy countryside feel with a modern twist seamlessly. Great location right on a public footpath so excellent for walkers - on the first day we went for a wander and happened upon Aira force waterfalls.
