Clean, cosy, well equipped. Lovely location. No need to get in the car- was central for exploring Kilmartin Glen on foot.
Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
This hotel has so much history and has been run by same family for more than 50 years. Dinner was great, bar was cosy (watching rain outside!) and breakfast was very good. Crinan canal is very interesting and hotel is in best spot to watch the boats come through the locks.
So unique and charming. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, the rooms were very large and comfortable with fabulous linen and towels which were all super clean, the restaurant had linen tablecloths & napkins which made it special and the atmosphere was calm but busy. The views from the rooms were awesome and the location was perfect.
Breakfast was wonderful. Anything and everything was possible. All served swiftly and hot.
The seafood platter was the best we have ever eaten - including above the fish market in Etaples. Great value for top rate shellfish - including many langoustines, and a whole lobster.
This is a quirky but very charming hotel and we'll be back for sure.
