Got the code for the keys straight after booking the accommodation. Easy peasy.
The hot tub was on and ready when we got there so no messing around and was straight in.
We used the cooking facilities and enjoyed Netflix on the TV the first night. The little snacks and treats the host left for us made the weekend that much better.
The entire place is very modern and the bathroom is very slick.

The cottage was immaculate but also styled to a very high spec - my family were super impressed. The code access was easier than trying to find and remember keys all the time, beds were super comfy and everything you needed was available. When i stupidly left a much treasured watch behind, the cleaner handed it in immediately and Hannah posted it straight back to me. My husband and I will definitely return to Carpenter’s cottage and use it as our base in the lakes- could not recommend this cottage more highly.

Lovely room, great decor, very comfortable bed and great breakfast. Staff were friendly, professional and everything worked like clockwork.
Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
A lovely cottage with beautiful views not too far from Hawkshead then Windermere.
Nothing really needed, the property is cosy and homely not an overpopulated spot in the lakes ideal base to explore.
We liked it that much we booked a second week.
Such a friendly welcome from Maureen and we felt immediately at home. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was great too and the location was ideal for our purposes with lovely views over the local countryside.
The cottage is in a beautiful and quiet location. It is well equipped and there nothing that we felt was missing. Plenty of logs for the fires. The beds were comfortable with high quality linen.
Excellent home cooked breakfast with home baked bread. Lovely village location surrounded by superb countryside. Very quiet. Very comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful. Off street parking on drive.
The location in general is great for easy access to main towns and shops, to get every day food and essentials, and of course it’s within easy driving distance of many beautiful spots within the Lake District.
The countryside location of the property is also very relaxing, with National Trust sites within waking / hiking distance and friendly neighbours.
Bed & Breakfast, both were lovely. The bed was very comfy, slept like a log and the breakfast was a welcome start and set up for the day. The homemade Marmalade on toast was lovely, I would have gladly bought a few jars to bring home had it been available.
It was a short walk to the local pub for refreshments, food was excellent and beer refreshing. The cottage was nice and quiet, nice to stop and just listen to nature and the views.
Plumtree House is a beautiful house in an equally beautiful village. The owners are so nice, maureen's home made bread is delicious. We had a lovely spacious room with amazing views across the countryside. Recommend a walk through the village to the Wheatsheaf pub, meal was delicious & massive portion. Staff so friendly & welcoming, even puppa got treats & a bowel if water. Would 100% recommend a visit & stay at Plumtree House. Thank you for a wonderful stay. 😁😁
