The whole atmosphere and how the cottage looked, very much within the style of the countryside. Warm, welcoming, well equipped (particularly the kitchen - the juicer was something else!). The kitchen was the heart and soul of the place, with the range giving off enough heat to warm up the whole cottage with zero effort from the guests. The bedroom was furnished to perfection with Narnia-style wardrobe and a comfy bed. We wish we stayed there longer! The staircase, even though causing some issues for me as I have some mobility problems, looked amazing - way up to the bedroom, down to the kitchen.
Breakfast was a very nice touch.

Beautiful area - it as a shame there was a limited view from the cottage.
Cottages are perfect for travellers who enjoy feeling cosy and independent in the countryside. Usually small, traditionally built houses, cottages spread across one or two floors, making them great for families, or holidays with a little more privacy.
Beautiful room situated within a cottage directly opposite The Devonshire Arms at Beeley with private parking adjacent to the side of the property. Our room was absolutely beautiful. The decor was cosy and stylish. We particularly loved the HUGE rolltop bath and fabulous wet room. The staff were so lovely: super helpful and friendly. We ate the first evening and had the most wonderful dinner and dessert. Breakfast was also outstanding.
Beautiful cottage exceeded all expectations, pictures don’t do it justice ! The view watching the sunset from the hot tub each night was a definite highlight. Hosts very helpful, all amenities thought of and included inside.
Room in the cottage was so comfortable very clean and had everything we needed and the windows were lovely food was amazing and the staff were as good as the food lovely scenery and so cosy. 10/10
Casual, relaxed pub. Room (in cottage opposite) was ok, quite small but lovely comfortable bed, nice toiletries, biscuits and nespresso type coffee machine. Food was delicious at dinner and breakfast, staff /service was lovely and warm. Enjoyed our stay
The Devonshire arms is in a perfect location on the Chatsworth estate. The room was cosy but perfect, beautiful Noble Isle toiletries. We ate in the pub twice, excellent food, a little pricey. The staff are just lovely too, friendly and helpful. Great place for a chill out break, walking and seeing the beautiful surrounding area. More information on local walls would be helpful but the Tourise information in Bakewell was great.
Lovely cottage, beautiful location very rural. Close to matlock and bakewell around a 15 minute drive. Castleton and Buxton just under 40 minutes away. Hot Tub was clean and well kept. Hosts lovely. Goats on site very friendly enjoyed the food left to feed them with. Field for dog walking very handy. 2 rooms both with ensuites, very spacious well equipped cottage. If we were to visit Peak District again we would definitely stay again.
Superb location, lovely views. Modern cottage with everything you need, very clean. The beds were comfortable. The hot tub was a great addition, as well as feeding the goats.
