Large (and spacious!) cottage in a lovely countryside location. Spotlessly clean inside, comfortable sitting area and well-equipped kitchen. Good-sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms great for 2 couples. Showers hot and powerful. Self-serve breakfast available (although we didn’t take advantage of that). Parking onsite.

Marshwood Farm B&B and Shepherds Hut, hotel in Alvediston

Offering a garden and garden view, Marshwood Farm B&B and Shepherds Hut is located in Dinton, 15 km from Salisbury Train Station and 15 km from Salisbury Racecourse.

I was absolutely blown away by this stunning B&B! It is a truly gorgeous house and the bedroom was huge, super comfortable, wonderfully quiet and amazingly clean. The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had away from home, all local produce and cooked perfectly. I had stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Berlin the night before - I prefer Marshwood Farm! The host was so welcoming and lovely, I felt like I was coming to stay with old friends! I am busy working out other reasons for visiting the area in order to come and stay again, this time with friends and family!

A wonderful place in the hub of the city, yet on the edge of the countryside, hotel in Alvediston

Set in Salisbury, 300 metres from Salisbury Train Station, less than 1 km from Salisbury Cathedral and 3.5 km from Old Sarum, A wonderful place in the hub of the city, yet on the edge of the...

Pretty much every aspect of this place. It was spacious, clean, in a great location. All round it's the best stay we've had here in the UK. There is a very private courtyard outside the dining room that also contains the washer and drier, although hidden behind two slatted doors like a cupboard. Connected to the small third bedroom is another veranda with a table and a couple of chairs. Definitely a good deal all round.

Owners were really welcoming and were happy to accommodate our early start by providing a really good breakfast bag both mornings. The pub food was great and there was a nice atmosphere in the bar which was full of character (and even had a cat!). Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. We didn't have time to explore beyond the Inn but the countryside was lovely.

It feels like an enchanted cottage that I came across on my travels in the middle of the woods. It is full of wonders and little nic nacs that made me smile. The little farm yard around the back is just the cutest and the hosts were just lovely.

Wow! what a hidden gem! This place is superb all round, Glo and Steve were exceptional hosts, this thatched pub is fabulous inside and out. Good pub grub, lovely room, idyllic location, so beautiful and peaceful. The antique shop inside the pub was a real treat and not forgetting all the animals in the garden. It was truly a treat to stay there, will definitely be returning.

It’s a long way from the beaten track and very peaceful ,owls by night and cockerels in the morning .The rooms are cosy ,the pub area is somewhat bland but interestingly they have a curiosity shop which makes for a bit of interest .The breakfast was fine ,evening meal spoiled as what I wanted to order was out of stock .

A charming pub that offers very comfortable accommodation. The location is idyllic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had dinner which was exceptional - real traditional pub food to a very high standard. Everything was so fresh and locally sourced. The full English breakfast was also delicious! We had a lovely time. We also really enjoyed exploring the "vintage and various" room where the kids picked up some lovely trinkets! Thank you Glo and Steve

Such a quaint, atmospheric and historic inn nestled within beautiful countryside surroundings. Steve and Gloria were superb and friendly hosts. I enjoyed a delicious dinner and friendly conversation by the fire in the pub followed by a restful night in my cosy room. The morning was kicked off right with a superb full English breakfast. This is a great place and I highly recommend a visit.
