I was concerned about going in October at the end of the dry season. It was fine , although very warm , the advantage being the visuals of all 16 points at the falls were dynamic . The people of Zimbabwe are wonderful and extremely hospitable.

People are very friendly and helpful.
People are very friendly and helpful. A better time to visit would have been in August perhaps. The falls were at their lowest. We stayed at Shearwater Explorers Lodge and later at The Shrub Lodge. Both were good accommodations.
The river cruises on the Zambezi were well run and well worth the money.
Zimbabwe will not sell a multiple entry visa to Canadians. Therefore, when we visited Chobe we had to re-buy our visas. In total it cost 2 of us $300 USD for Visas. Felt this was not right. Canadians should consider a visit to Zimbabwe complicated. If we had wanted to cross the bridge to Zaire we also would have paid another $75USD each to come back to Zimbabwe. Political grudges played out through the Visas.

Everything is sooo pricey especially the park fees and transportation. There’s plenty of accommodation for every price range and the tour operators are efficient. It’s very safe and the people are nice and helpful. There is soo much to see in Victoria falls I’m in love with the town. Food options are not a lot though

You're here to see the Falls and the river - whether you do that from the ground, air, water or a mix - so you put up with the town which is a pure tourist trap. Prices are high - but you can afford them - when walking you are approached every few yards by polite but persistent guys desperate to sell you some wooden souvenir, or old Zimbabwean bank notes, or strange creations of twisted wire. It's not a pretty location - until you pay $50 dollars (half price for Chinese passports) to get within sight of the Falls. Still the Falls are wondrous - even at low water in the dry season - and the long road out to the airport is one of the straightest you'll ever see!

We did a helicopter over the falls, walked the falls, a sunset cruise and a Boma dinner which is about everything you can do in the falls. The markets just outside the National park were amazing, not overly pushy with lovely stuff. A great place to visit for 2 to 3days.
