Room was perfect, incredible view, great service. We had the Braai Basket which was lovely with more than enough food. Hot tub was amazing, and the included breakfast the next morning was very nice. We will definitely be back!

The only thing about the property that was good were the 3 staff we encountered when having breakfast. On the first morning there was only one gentleman servicing the restaurant and it was only his third day at the property but he was so helpful, polite and friendly and on the second morning there were two gentleman servicing the restaurant and they too were very friendly and polite and tried their best under the circumstances.

Beautiful original farm thatch house,, very rustic and is as its advertised, rustic charm on a Beautiful farm with amazing views and a love walk around the dam.
There were some things that we needed sorting out when they arrived,and the staff just got it seen to in a jiffy!
Met other amazing people there,and we gathered together around the fire, which is amazing!

Church street is cute with those small little houses. Main road a bit dirty and chaotic on the lower end side. Not much options for dining/shop/do with kids unless you choose the wineries during the day.

Loved the historical and quaint buildings of the town, and the surrounding farmlands. We did an olive tasting at an olive farm which was amazing. Our stay and food at the Tulbagh Boutique Hotel was wonderfully memorable!

Oude Compagnies Post is outstanding and the cherry on the cake. Definitely the highlight of our visit to Tulbagh, excellent wine and a knowledgeable, educated and well informed host. Not to be missed.
Daphne is also highly recommended as our restaurant of choice.
A beautiful hiking route with a swimming pool, which is shallow enough for non swimmers is also available on Oude Compagnies Post.

We arrived on Good Friday of the Easter weekend and settled into our accommodation at Eikelaan Farm Cottages. Saturday was spent getting to know the history of Tulbagh at the Earthquake museum, old church & cemetery, and wandering down Church street admiring the restored old buildings. Rijk’s Wine estate just outside of town for lunch, and Daphne’s for dinner. Sunday we enjoyed lunch at The Tulbagh Boutique Hotel at their Olive Bistro restaurant. Great food & wine.

We loved the wine farms and visited several. The Valentine's Day dinner at Manley wine estate was excellent and the Tulbagh Hotel dinner was very good.
The museums in the historic street are really interesting
It is an easy area to get around, albeit always by car.
We would avoid staying in such rustic accommodation and choose a wine farm instead

Could have stayed for a week instead of a weekend. Fabulous staff at the Cape Dutch Quarter Hotel, such an eclectic mix of Georgian & old Cape Dutch buildings .....all connected by peaceful gardens & even a lovely pool. Our room was self catering but with so many great eateries/vineyards we didn't bother cooking ourselves!!!! Highly recommend
This is a guest house we can recommend to any person looking for accommodation in Tulbagh. It is located in a quiet street but within easy walking distance to every tourist attraction and restaurant. The manager, owner and other staff are top class. The manager herself makes all the breakfasts and seeing that she is a chef, it is restaurant quality and served in a wonderful huge "farm" kitchen where you all sit around this massive wood table it makes for a great experience.
Saronsberg is in a great location as you are only a 10 minute drive out of the town of Tulbagh as well as Montpellier which is a stunning wine farm. The aircon in the room was lovely! There are stunning views all around the property and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly! The Charlotte Rhys products were a lovely addition.
The farm stay was something totally different to what we expected, but it is BEAUTIFUL. The view all around is amazing and still closely located to town.
