Most travellers are self drive or have private transport booked but there was a local taxi service advertised on a notice board at the Kamogelo Tourism Centre if you get stuck.

Hoedspruit is indeed a tourist destination. Restaurants are in abundance. We enjoyed our dinners at The Hat and Creek restaurant. The town is bordered by the Kruger National Park. Access to the KNP is easy.

The views of the Foot of the Klein Drakensburg are absolutely to die for. I had to stop numerous times on my way to and from Hoedspruit to just take in the scenery…absolutely breathtaking and majestic!

Hoedspruit is the best town in Greater Kruger.
Hoedspruit is the best town in Greater Kruger. Reasonably priced direct flights from Capetown or Johannesburg. Rental cars at airport. Grocery stores, restaurants and a variety of great places to stay.
This is where to start and stock up if you are self driving Kruger. 45 minutes to the Orpen gate and another 45 to Letaba rest camp. Expect to see elephant on the way.

A waring to be patient of the access roads, if driving in. Tri-axle bulk transporters seem to use every conceivable road, many of which are hilly and not endowed with many safe and legal overtaking opportunities.

The staff are very welcoming and they gave us the best service. The breakfast was to die for. If you want to unwind and let nature speak to you, don't hesitate, book your stay now. I love the privacy and the smell of different trees that sorrounds the Lodge. It was a good experience.
We absolutely loved our short stay in Unembeza. We stayed in the Bullthorn room, which was just sooo gorgeous and comfortable - amazing bed / design / outside shower… The quality of the food was just brilliant, loved everything during breakfast, lunch and dinner. And just perfect service at all times.
We also enjoyed the morning walk, we even saw giraffes and a waterbuck very close to the hotel.
Would absolutely stay again and also stay longer next time!
Perfect little self catering house for a solo traveller or a couple. You’re very close to everything in the town and the outdoor shower is AMAZING! Very nice braai area and outside seating area as well. The host, Sophia, was very friendly and accommodating to my last minute request for a later check-out and very willing to help if there was anything needed.
Will definitely choose to stay here again.
The service and staff were extremely wonderful at this 5-villa boutique hotel. They exude customer service and Sabine (mgr) was always helpful and very responsive. Wild Blue Lodge is a must stay in South Africa and the place is nettled in the most spectacular surroundings (one with nature). All staff members are very on-hands and helpful to all guests (breakfast/dinner amazing!!)
Everything is amazing, the size of the rooms, the design, the room service. The hotel offers the best looking rooms and the pools are amazing.. the food is amaazing, the staff super friendly, had a meet and greet with the lovely Manager Khanyisa super friendly. My stay there was super memorable I have every plan to return again soon.. for a new place that is amazing..
Amazing experience and very exclusive. My family (2 childrens and 2 adults) were very well accommodate and with a 5 start service all the time.
The resort caters to only a handful of guests, ensuring an atmosphere of tranquility and exclusivity. We felt as if we had our own private Lodge with an air of serenity that permeated every corner.
The hot tub! It was definitely the highlight of our stay. The tents are very comfortable and well kitted out. Just like staying in a hotel, but the walls and roof of the room are tent. The bathroom is very spacious with excellent water pressure and hot water on demand. Gas stove meant we weren’t affected by loadshedding at all.
It is no exaggeration to say that this is the most unforgettable hotel I have ever stayed in in my life. There are only two tents, and we are one of them, so it is a very luxurious and private experience, the most luxurious tent, and the most intelligent indoor facilities, I really regret not booking all the itineraries here
Great property on a quiet street in Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. Rooms were comfortable, kitchen very well equipped. Really enjoyed the outdoor shower. Great WiFi connection. During our stay we had bushbabies, warthog, bushbock and wide variety of birds visit the house.
Everything about the hotel was great. Location, the facilities and above all the Team! From the moment we dropped our car at the entrance gate to the very end. Everyone was helpful and lovely. Food was great and our game driver was the best!

Situated in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate made it seem like we were really 'away' from things although it was so conveniently close to town. The room was perfect and we will definitely book there again when we travel to Hoedspruit.
