Loved the tranquility, beautiful peaceful surroundings.
Breakfast was delicious. Staff were lovely & friendly.
Spa was great. Had a lovely 90min message.
The people @ the nail bar could be less noisy though!

The aim was to see as much of the Hluhluwe Game Reserve as possible. Using Booking.com we were able to have two full days in the Reserve. We saw many animals including Cheetah/ elephants /Rhino / Buffalo/ Zebra /warthog and a variety of buck.
The area is well known for its sweet pineapples which are readily available on the roadside.
Suggestion: book secure accomodation and bring mosquito repellent

Amazing park!!!
Amazing park!!! A pity we didn’t get to see any of the cats but it was still an amazing experience. We did a self drive and the roads were manageable with the Toyota urban cruiser so not necessary a 4x4. However we went in the dry season so be careful if you go during the wet season as I think a 4x4 would be needed. Amazon place where I would love to go back. Memorial gate- cash only. Nyalazi gate - cash or card. R5 for the maps.

We enjoyed our stay at Anew Hluhluwe, the facilities were great, the buffet was really good with a variety of options and friendly staff. I loved the Zulu dancing entertainment, it was a great vibe in the evenings. The front desk staff were pleasant and it was very convenient to book the safaris at the hotel. We had an incredible guide, Israel who took us on a morning safari, he was so knowledgable and we saw 4/5 Big 5. My disappointment was that I booked to spend my birthday at this hotel and I stated on my booking that I would like something special done for the evening at dinner, I reminded the staff at check-in and the dinner staff the day before, yet my bday was not acknowledged the next day at dinner. I was extremely disappointed as this is where I chose to spend my birthday with a short vacay. I did make the front desk staff and manager aware of this on check out.
Very friendly and helpful assistant manager (Ktane? not sure of the spelling of his name). Comfortable bed. Good hot water and pressure in the shower. The kitchenette is equipped to do some simple meal preparation (refrigerator/freezer, microwave, hot water kettle, and toaster oven/stovetop burner combo). Good, quiet air conditioning unit. Parking available in front of our unit. Gated property felt safe and secure. SPAR supermarket within walking distance. Good location for visiting the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park via the eastern gate.
Literally EVERYTHING was AMAZING. The amenities were great, the whole team was outstanding and so kind, and the food was great because it was simple but so good, way better than most 5-star hotels that pretend to do gastronomy and end up missing the point. What to say about game drives? I don't have words for what we experienced, the reserve is astonishing and our guides (Shoutout to Chris and Heather) were out of this world. The overall experience left us speechless, and we know what we're talking about.
I was hosting a group of friends as I was celebrating my party in Hluhluwe. The host Llewelyn was very friendly and patient with me as my guests arrived very late. the establishment is beautiful and the rooms are well-equipped. We had booked all of the rooms on the day and my guests were a bit loud, but I am glad they did not disturb the neighbors.
Thank you for being welcoming and understanding the dynamics of dealing with a group booking.
The location is worth the very painful dirt road drive.
The self catering 3 bedroom layout is really great. The views are lovely and the accommodation feels very isolated from other rooms, despite actually being relatively close.
The staff on the boat trip to look for hippos and the evening animal drive were knowledgeable, informative and nice to spend time with.
The food at Hluhluwe river lodge was out of this world!! Breakfast and supper was first class. My wife and I went on honey moon and we were blown away. They accommodated us with everything we needed. Very considerate as they even helped us arrange game drives and activities in St Lucia. Amazingly friendly staff!! Nothing but compliments for Hluhluwe River Lodge
The friendliness of staff, the beautiful set up of hotel, food, cleaniness, basically everything about this hotel was on point. I'd give a complete 10/10. This is definitely going to be more visits from me. The toilets were spotless which is always a worry for me. I love this hotel.
Perfect location for our visits to I-Simangaliso and Hluhluwe National Parks. Accommodation was exceptional, food was lovely with a great wine selection! But what made the whole visit perfect was the staff, everyone was helpful and friendly. We'd definitely go back again!
For the price this place was awesome! We are on a backpacker budget and this allowed us to visit Hluhluwe-Imfolozi within our budget. Fairly good kitchen facilities and clean rooms/bathrooms! The host was so friendly, we would definitely stay here again!
Great central location 15 minutes from Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Gate. Very clean & cosy. Great bed that was so comfy. Somehow Booking.com had our dates wrong, but Hlulala thankfully had space & accommodated us.
A nice getaway, close to Hluhluwe game reserve - easy access to day visits. A comfortable "modest" cottage. We enjoyed the view of the dam and loved that the Bushbabies visited us.
Breakfast was AMAZING
Unit was lovely and clean and well maintained - maybe some better numbering
cant wait to come back
swimming pool by self catering units was lovely
The entire experience was good. The game drive to hluhluwe, xmas dinner and super friendly staff. The manager / supervisor Rebecca has great client skills, she is wonderful.
Great location close to Imfolozi Hluhluwe Park, set in amongst natural forest and easy to get to. Outstanding restaurant, Delish, at the entrance to the Kuleni Game Park.
We stayed overnight after our visit to the Hululuwe National Park.
The place was very clean.
No restaurant or self catering but a small restaurant in town.
