During a recent multi-day hiking adventure, I had the pleasure of concluding my journey at the Fancourt Spa Hotel, nestled in the heart of its stunning golf resort with the backdrop of the Outeniqua Mountains. From the moment I arrived, the warm welcome set the tone for an extraordinary experience. The staff's genuine hospitality made me feel like a treasured guest, and their attention to detail was unparalleled.
The spa was a true oasis of relaxation, offering the perfect cool-down after days of rigorous trekking. The ambiance was serene, with soft lighting, soothing music, and a refreshing scent that immediately put me at ease. My therapists were highly skilled and tailored treatments to rejuvenate sore muscles and leaving me feeling refresh and revitalized.
Beyond the spa, the hotel’s amenities were equally impressive. My room was a sanctuary of comfort, featuring plush furnishings and spacious bathroom that had a bath and shower. Winding down in such luxury after a challenging hike was an indulgence I won’t soon forget.
The resort’s dining options were top-tier, with meals that balanced wholesome nutrition and gourmet delight.
The Fancourt Spa Hotel exceeded all my expectations, making it the perfect retreat for any traveler seeking relaxation after an active adventure. I would recommend this gem to anyone looking for a harmonious blend of outdoor beauty, luxurious pampering, and unmatched hospitality

Beautiful Property. Every detail thought of and looked after. Rooms are lovely. This was our first time in one of the smaller studio rooms with a pool view and they are lovely. Beds are comfy and bathrooms nice. Restaurant is always great, for dinner and breakfast. Staff are all so friendly and helpful. And of course the peacocks everywhere is entertaining.

"We had a wonderful time in George, Eastern Cape. The town’s stunning natural landscapes, from lush forests to beautiful beaches in Victoria Bay, made every day a delight. The pleasant climate and friendly locals added to the charm, and we enjoyed exploring the Strawberry farm - a little on the expensive side. Whether relaxing or seeking adventure, George offered the perfect balance for a memorable getaway."

George is a charming city with a small town feel.
George is a charming city with a small town feel. Surrounded by the beauty of the Outeniqua mountains, George offers great outdoor activities as well as having the needed town conveniences. I always find it a restful place to visit and stay.
I love the local Panarottis outlet for delicious pizza to the choice and variety of the SuperSpar located in Heatherlands. George is easy to get around with a car. For bigger shopping trips, the Garden Route Mall is great.

The property and accommodation was perfect.
The property and accommodation was perfect. It was just as what was advertised. The breakfast was well presented and good. The staff was very friendly and polite. If there was a negative it would be the toilet seat that needs replacing and also to ensure that all toiletry containers are full before guests arrive. Also there was no hand soap for the hand basin. Other than that we had a good stay.

George is a beautiful place with gorgeous picturesque areas but unfortunately I couldn't visit as I I was only passing through only stayed for one night. The location of this hotel is conveniently across the mall where you can go shopping have lunch or dinner. The lady at the reception also told us of other best restaurants we can visit in town and we found the best for our dinner their food was amazing 👏

Pathetic service, an absolute lie (4-star).
Pathetic service, an absolute lie (4-star). Will never ever visit this hotel again, and will make sure to advise others accordingly. In fact, will address this on 'Hello Peter' website to inform the rest of the world!!! Will also review on Booking.com
Shower leaking into the passage and bedroom. Basin running very slowly. Towels more than 10 years old, tattered at the ends and very thin. Toiletries not replenished at all. Uncountable amount of dirty stains on the carpet floor throughout the room, absolutely disgusting. TV loses signal all the time. WiFi signal is very poor. Kettle physically broken. What a disaster... definitely not a 4-star hotel, should be investigated for false advertising.
Manager not really perturbed by the complaints and doesn't really appear to be concerned by the ridiculous condition of the room, because the hotel is apparently "fully booked".
I've been to the Garden Route more that 15 years in a row and by far my worst experience!!

Mimosa Cottage is located in a quiet suburb in George. It is a great place for an overnight stay. The accommodation was clean and well kept. We travelled from Cape Town on New Years Day and arrived just before 8pm. After a long day on the road, we were pleasantly surprised to find a warm meal of vetkoek and mince, and a whole lot of goodies, including 'Happy New Year" hats. The accommodation and warm hospitality of the hosts(even though we did not get to meet them) was wonderful, and greatly appreciated.
Spectacular breakfast. Superb room. Magnificent golf course. For travellers working in George... Oubaai provides superior accommodation to the chain hotels in George. Wildly convenient to George Airport.
