Remote location where you learn about nature when there’s not much rainfall. It’s amazing. Also you’re in nature, beautiful sunsets and stars. Beautiful Kokerbomen (quivertrees).
The house is very well equipped with a good shower, a comfortable bed and it’s very clean. There’s a kitchen that so you can self cater. We went there to visit the Augrabies NP which is a 50 minute drive away. But do contact the owner too: there are activities on the guest farm too, we did a sunset tour and got to see beautiful views. They made the remote accessible for my 78yo mom too with this tour. Hannecke one of the owners is (or has) an incredible cook, for an honest price she makes a meal so that’s something to ask about too. There are no G’s and the WiFi is just good enough to what’s app which is perfect way to deconnect without worrying your relatives

Augrabies Falls is a must do once in your lifetime.
Augrabies Falls is a must do once in your lifetime. We tied it in with the flower season which means a lower water flow, but still amazing. The Orange river is also a must do at this location. We visited the Kamkirri resort to see the river and it did not disappoint. Our accommodation at the Falls Guest House exceeded our expectations. Absolutely immaculate, we were warm and comfortable.

A visit to the falls is always worth it , what ever the flow rate of water.
However it is very clear that despite well trained and friendly staff the site suffers from neglect. A considerable proportion of the view site boardwalks are cordoned off as damaged areas show no sign of being repaired. Flood damage occurred about 18 months ago (so we were told) and it is very difficult to understand why a premier tourist destination does not receive priority from SAN Parks head office. We last visited Augrabies five years ago and heard the same story from staff, little, none or very difficult to get, support from Pretoria.
Shame on you SANParks!

Well, the water flow wasn't heavy as I thought we should have waiting till rainy seasons, nonetheless, my trip was good and I wish to see big 5's in my next trip, I did not ask if they have guided tours or it's self drive only.

Augrabies Falls was a highlight of our 5-week visit to South Africa. The earlier downpours had closed the game drive, moon rock and dassie walk, due to water damage. But the falls were spectacular and well worth the trip on their own. We spent 3 hours walking along the banks of the Orange River and then had lunch on the shady restaurant deck, with little monkeys running beneath the tables.

Augrabies falls was something amazing.
Augrabies falls was something amazing. I travel all over South-Africa, and Augrabies is on the top 3 of my list of most breathing places. The view is spectacular, the air is fresh and the trip through the Karoo was the cherry on top. Everyone is helpful, friendly and a pleasure to be around. I'll recommend it to anyone and definitely do it again despite the 10 hour drive from where I came from.

The falls were amazing to see.
The falls were amazing to see. Many advantage points to view the falls from. Interesting game drive, although animals are challenging to see. Augrbies falls park has a resturant, ablutions and chalets with pools. I would assume it becomes crowded in the busy season. Great area with many citrus and raisin farms
The location was unique. The lodge was the only building in tens of kilometers. The Augrabies terrain is very rough. Daberas can only be reached via a 50 km dirt road with fences that have to opened and closed and that is en adventure in it self. We made splendid trips in the surroundings amongst which the unique Oranje river.
The service was friendly and good. Meals were included, they were of good quality and prepared after consultation of preference. Daberas is a unique lodge. There is not a soul in all directions.
I found a jewel close to Augrabies Falls, warm welcome, friendly receptionists. Loadshedding explained and the place is nice and has all the utensils one needs.
I would recommend this place to anyone and it's good value for money
Excellent location and is so close to Augrabies Falls. Mandie went out of her way to assist us and even made a booking for us at Dundi lodge for dinner.
