The guys at reception when I checked in just ignored me and left me at reception. Only when the lady who appeared to own the hotel arrived, did the guys start smiling. The cleaning lady has no business knocking on my door at 08:30 to clean the room. I am on holiday. I need to rest!

Strange place without many tourist amenities, and nothing I could find that is actually at the beach. All restaurants and bars I could find sit either in town or in the a mall. This is probably due to the original development of residential properties directly on the beack, not leaving space for businesses. But perhap a though for the future to put up some kiosks along the beach areas?

The shops and restaurants and take away shops are 2 mins away, you don't need to drive. Building is clean, except for cockroaches in the apartment. Sea view was spectacular, except you cannot swim in the ocean, you need to drive to main beach and we didn't find life guards probably because it was out of season.

This is a wonderful part of Durban!
This is a wonderful part of Durban!
Beautiful coast line with markets and hawkers along the foreshore.
Shopping close by and an easy drive into Durban
The are was very quiet and loved seeing the monkeys roaming around.
We spent most of our time in Durban which is unapologetically raw and chaotic so it was great to have a quiet place to retreat to.
It has a lovely village feel and you can get most of what you want/need from the near by supermarkets.

Great town with fantastic bars pubs and restaurants all with their own special traits, the town is unfortunately not the best as some areas are really run down and neglected, but the beaches were clean, sea was swimable.
Over the years, I have stayed in several different flats in Stella Maris.
Flat 93 is definitely my favorite one and feels like home, just at the sea.
It is a very neat, modern, and cozy flat, with everything that you need.
The host has a very warm and caring personality and makes you feel at home straight away.
I can definitely recommend Flat 93 and know you will enjoy every minute of your stay too!
Thank you for a wonderful break away. I will most definitely be visiting soon ☺️
The host was really amazing, met us on arrival took us to the flat showed us around. It's nt very often that the host do go the extra mile in making sure the guests are happy or comfortable. This was definitely a home away frm home. Neat clean, comfortable with an amazing view. Thank you Seelan for making our stay memorable. Will definitely be coming back to Stella Maris.
A comfortable stay in Amanzimtoti. Staff are extremely helpful and kind. Breakfast was good and warned guests promptly of the animals around. The family room had a stunning view and also just had the bathrooms renovated. In other words, Alante Lodge invests in it property and guess who benefits? Guests!
It’s a quite town. Friendly people.
The host was welcoming, she showed great hosting skills. Responds to questions, friendly and helpful.
The manager Blessing,is truly a blessing like his name suggests. Friendly and caring gentleman. I would definitely book this place again when in Amanzimtoti.
The view was amazing which was wonderful for my mom who couldn't walk on the beach.
Keith and Lynette were wonderful hosts. Close enough to call if there were issues but let you have your space too.
Being in a block of flats made us feel safer as there were lots of wanderers outside on the road.
I love the clean aesthetic of the building and all the lights work with relays and motion detectors which should be implemented in all hotels, your room automatically switches off the moment you leave with your keycard. Personally it is one of the best hotels I’ve seen.
Its close to the beach. The kids could go play on the playground when it was to windy on the beach.
The unit had access to wifi and Netflix so we could keep the kids entertained when it was rainy. The units decor was beautiful it was very clean and comfortable.
I always like to stay in Stella Maris as it's quiet and close to the beach.
The flat was neat and we had a lovely stay - the only thing I can suggest and please its just from my side, is that the flat perhaps get one or 2 fans - just for that extra hot days
We liked having a ground-floor flat where our little boy could run around in the garden, while still having a sea view. Access to the main beach in Amanzimtoti was extremely easy. The flat was well-stocked and we were quite comfortable.
Security is good, though it seems the hotel is in dodgy area but many security personnel is around. Parking with gate and remote control. Personnel tries to keep everything clean, but hotel needs upgrade-new bedsheets and furniture.
It was something different because we used to staying on the beach but it was a good experience.
Friendly help from the Gugu and the other guy who worked at night. Candles was given because of the power failure.
Everything was perfect what I like the most it was the view wow , I really enjoyed my stay , the hotel it's very big we had enough space and it's was clean
I liked the fact that the Toti Mall was nearby. Also nice to walk on the beach and do not have to cross a street. Car was underneath building and safe.
