A classic in Luganville since 1975, Hotel Santo Vanuatu is a family-run hotel with a relaxed retro feel, and casual and unpretentious island service. It is a step back into the retro 70s!

Stay here once a year for work and it’s always great. Love staying on the street side so I can sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. Great views and always something happening. Complimentary breakfast is great and the menu is varied enough. Staff are very friendly. Great place to stay.

Thank you to Tricia and Russell for hosting us in this idyllic location. Collected from the airport and taken to stock up on supplies at the supermarket. Met by Russell at the jetty to take us over to Aore Island. Bungalow was spacious and very clean. Beautiful outlook over the lush gardens and bay. Loved waking up to the sounds of birds each morning and being able to snorkel from the bottom of the garden. Limited places to eat on the island and opening times not always correct. Tricia and Russell were very accommodating of any requests and helped arrange water taxi’s back and forth to Luganville. Can highly recommend 2 or 3 nights at Hibiscus Retreat…. you won’t be disappointed.

The room and are arrangement of accommodation is a little better than I expected from the photos. Nice private villas with the beach all to yourself. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was beautiful, however a little taste of pacific would make it perfect. Maybe a few pieces of yam/taro/cassava and some cooked vegetables.

Kathy was so nice, she helped me walking around the village and gave me some fruits from her garden. However I think if there is scheduled electricity or water cut she should have told me beforehand. The water outage lasted for 3 days even after the scheduled cut, she said it always happenes and never know when the water is coming back. Although she provided me some rain water it was a nightmare.
Set on a private and secluded tropical island, this beachfront resort offers guests free ferry transfers to and from Espiritu Santo.

The one of best things I found at this resort was the menu that changed daily. The food was fresh and plentiful and was reasonably priced.
The cabins were spacious and cleaned daily, I loved the isolation and private beach.
The staff were wonderful, friendly and accommodating.

You need to go well provisioned, from toiletries to non microwaveable meals. There was no barbecue just a 2 x burner gas hob. No toaster, no hairdryer. There is a small fridge.
The bed is firm but comfortable. Take your own beach towels and reef shoes are a must. Take plenty to do at night as no TV or radio.
There is limited wifi but you can purchase more.
The owner / host is very friendly and is working hard to get the place finished. He is also very approachable.
A round Island trip is a must to appreciate Aore's history and experience the different scenery and beaches.
