Hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Exceeded my expectations for customer service probably the best I have experienced. They assisted me in finding a tailor, went out of their way to help me break some currency, and coordinated with Grab to retrieve a critical medical item. The morning fruit was great and the facility was cleaner than other hotels we visited in Vietnam. Breakfast was also very good.

Hue is a great city to visit. The Imperial Palace has been refurbished and is full of historical interest, being home to the last royal dynasty of Vietnam and of course being the scene of the fighting protrayed in the Kubrik film "Full Metal Jacket". The Perfume River is pretty and a walk along its bank revealed many art pieces, nice gardens and interesting architecture.
Hue is not too big but we mostly used Grab cars when it got too hot.
Pleasant surprises were the Memoire Cafe, a little time capsule of the French colonial period near the train station, and Tran Huy Lieu, the cafe-lined road facing the Citadel across its moat. This was a nice and shady place to have a beer or royal tea (the delicious local specialty) in cool and relaxed surroundings.
There are hip and retro shops back in the 'walking area', a few open beer bars too in the Bangkok style of layout (but Viet Nam has much more dignity than Thailand). Good food and reasonable prices all around.

Plenty of places to visit if you like old historical...
Plenty of places to visit if you like old historical buildings. The abandoned water park is worth a visit by Grab. We walked around and found little places too eat and drink, but there isn't much in the way of shopping centers. People are lovely and it's not the Tourist trap like Hoi An can be. Defo worth a visit

I love experiencing ancient History. And this is a perfect place for that. I wish I would have stayed a bit longer here. We visited Imperial City of Hue. We hired a bike and it was very convenient for us.

Loved the antiquities museum.
Loved the antiquities museum. Situated near the citadel but a separate ticket. Lovely old wooden palace. Takes about 1-1.5hr to visit. Often missed in the day tours. A day tour is a good idea as they drive you around to the key sights which are quite dispersed. Often excellent value with lunch thrown in.

The Citadel was a little disappointing.
The Citadel was a little disappointing. It has the potential to be a major attraction. The grounds needed lots of attention. The main royal palace was under construction or maintenance, so a 'no-go zone'.
The audio guide and associated map numbering system used to direct users to all the features of the site was very hard to follow and in some cases inaccurate.

Having read about the damage to the Citadel during the 1968...
Having read about the damage to the Citadel during the 1968 events, expectations about the Citadel were modest. However, both the city and the Citadel turned out to be quite charming and captivating. We spent more than half a day exploring the Citadel.
Using Grab for transportation made it easy and convenient to explore the city.
Just try avoid going during hot periods - we went early April and felt temperatures were extremely hot around 42-44c.
The Jade is always a comfortable , clean, safe place and located conveniently . The staff are exceptional especially the receptionist. This is our third stay here and it never disappoints . Breakfast is simple and tasty enough . If you want buffet or 5 star breakfast go somewhere else . One other thing that sets this apart is how quiet this hotel is no one banging doors, moving furniture or yelling in the corridor ( well it wasn't the times we stayed) that's an added bonus when travelling . We will return when in Hue again .
Quite a new hotel in a good spot in Hue. Just outside the nightlife district and about 15mins walk from the citadel. Service was friendly and professional and the massage in the spa was very good. Buffet breakfast was as good as you could want with lots of variety, didn't try any other F&B from the hotel.
Popular cafe running from street level with the Vietnamese offering you'd expect. Room, bathroom and balcony were very generously sized.
Personnel are smiling every second of the day. Everyone so kind, happy, warm, welcoming and helpful.

Indochine palace was a lovely hotel. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Our room was spacious with a wonderful view of Hue. The gym was great and so was the pool. The music played in the lobby at night was lovely.
