The booking process was smoothly completed by a friendly staff member. The room was bigger than expected and was well lit with both ceiling lights and lamps. The shower pressure was perfect. The breakfast room was well set up and managed.

The room was clean and quiet, the beds comfortable, and there were three squishy pillows per bed. The room had a fridge and microwave, a strong box for valuables, and plenty of towels, giving us more anytime we asked. The room lighting was pretty good, and so was the bathroom. Four stories and two elevators meant very little waiting for the elevator, even in the morning. The parking lot is well lit. The breakfast had a few hot choices, including a pancake maker and really oatmeal, as well as eggs and a few other things that changed a little from day to day. Free coffee 24/7, and weekdays wine, beer, and soda from 5-7 pm. The location is convenient; Wilmington, with its infamous traffic, can be hard to navigate. The hotel has entrances from two streets so one or the other can be avoided if need be.
The Best Western Plus University Inn is located 2 miles from UNC Wilmington. Guests will enjoy a daily breakfast during their stay and an outdoor pool is also on site.

Staff was friendly and hotel was clean. It was close to everything in Wilmington. Ample parking and is located in a safe area. As far as the room goes. Bed was comfy bathroom was nice and updated.

The Oceanic Restaurant is wonderful, especially sitting out on the pier with the moon rising. We loved the sunset cruise too, and learned many interesting things about the area. The beach itself is hard-packed sand, but easy for walking. And there are many shells. Completely uncrowded in late October!

Wrightsville Beach is beautiful with many restaurants to choose from. Very walkable and a beautiful beach. It is a very quiet island not someplace I would expect a Spring Break Crowd - ever - definitely family friendly and couple friendly.

If you’ve never been to NC/Wilmington, or are debating on...
If you’ve never been to NC/Wilmington, or are debating on which beach to visit, you can stop now; Wrightsville is the superior choice and it’s not even close. Topsail will give you the Jacksonville/Marine base crowd, not that there’s anything wrong with that but it’ll be congested at times, Carolina is just a little old looking, Wrightsville is the go-to choice.

Our stay was through a third party ,at a hotel so the room was privatly owned , check that before booking , there was no coffie or cups for the coffie maker , it was dirty, and the agent never gave us the bands needed for the pool access.

I love Wrightsville Beach, but the pictures for Shell Island...
I love Wrightsville Beach, but the pictures for Shell Island Resort weren't accurate. I've always stayed at Holiday Resort and suites much bigger with connecting balconies from the bedroom and living room. Prices for food much cheaper. The beeds and pillows were very comfortable

We love Wrightsville Beach and have been coming since the late 80s to meet up with other family members from Connecticut, Indiana, Virginia, NC and Georgia. Now that the kids are grown with kids of their own, we're trying to continue the tradition. Love the Oceanic, King Neptune's (hope it reopens for next summer), the Trolley Stop and the ice cream stand especially the Graham Central Station flavor.

We arrived to find there was NO WATER!I had a business meeting that night, and we had to find another hotel. The management was useless! They said we have some bad news, They are working on the bridge. We immediately left. They said we would be issued a refund in 7-10 days (that was on Sept. 8 when we arrived). Still waiting on a refund.
The whole experience was not only upsetting, but disappointing. And now we have to call again for a refund!
it was an amazing trip. I read so many reviews about some renovations going on so I called the hotel before I came and they assured me all the renovations were done. The hotel is very clean and new. The room was pretty clean , spacious and the view from the room was spectacular although it was not ocean front. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and cooked to order . We will definitely be back .
The location of this facility is perfect for sunrise and sunsets. Right at the top of the island there are so many things to explore besides just a walk on the beach. We had a wonderful oceanfront balcony to view the ocean, white sand, and blue blue water. We did not receive any housekeeping while we were there, but the front desk was always helpful for things like toilet paper, trash bags and clean towels.
The hotel was right in the middle of everything you wanted to do. It's very close to the beach. However, it's close to the bars, which can be a plus, however we had a little rowdiness around 2-3 am. But what are you gonna do, it's spring break. The room is huge, the view is amazing, staff is great, super easy to work with. Would stay here again for sure.
Loved the location and easy access to beach and great water views from each room. The rooms themselves are better and bigger than a standard hotel room including kitchenette. Very clean. You are next to a road but inside rooms it is mostly quiet.
The hotel was in a great location, 4.5 miles from the beach, and near a lot of stores and restaurants. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast onsite was was tasty and very convenient.
Windows gave a great view to the pool and ocean. The closeness to the beach was amazing and the hotel itself was close to everything we needed. The parking was also very convenient to our room.
Property location was beautiful got the best of both worlds, beach and marshes. Hotel is at most northern end of the island so very quiet and secluded. Overall great place.
