Value, the area was fairly remote and businesses closed up at 10 pm in walking distance. Nothing fancy, breakfast fair by comparison (toaster waffles, no microwave sandwiches) but coffee was good, juice, etc.).

Stanton has a real down town. Not just for visitors but also for its residents to shop, dine and enjoy. So the merchants offer more than mementos and gift items. PLUS it has the only replica of Shakespeare's Black Friars Theathe at the American Shakespeare Center. That alone Stanton put its mark on the planet.

Did not give us the room we booked because they did not state that they had specific pet friendly rooms nor did they have us down as having a pet though i stated it in the reservation. Room was dusty and bathroom floor dirty. AC/heat unit noisy. And be warned there are freight train tracks about 20yards off the back od the hotel, so we had 2 trains go by during the early morning hours, 1:30am and around 3am that provided about 5 minutes of rumbling and shaking each. Not a recommended hotel for tired travelers

There are so many cute and wonderful stores. Could use more restaurants but plenty of coffee shops. Several museums and theatres (movies and live acting). I am especially interested in going back to the Shakespeare Theatre, and President Wilson's home/library.

We wanted a weekend getaway with history, and small-town 'Hallmark' charm. Staunton was perfect in every way. Easily walkable, beautiful downtown area, rich in history & haunted tales, with many unique small businesses to support & explore. We visited 2 great parks, & ate at The Clocktower Restaurant, and ventured to numerous breweries and wine tasting rooms. Our only complaint was that there are not many restaurants that are open past 9 pm, so any kind of "nightlife," bar, or later dinner is not an option.
I liked that this upscale hotel was pet friendly and so did my dog. I liked the very reasonable price of the room. The bed was quite comfortable, and the bathroom was super clean and spacious. All the staff people that I met were very personable and accommodating. It was interesting to hear from them about the history of the facility as my husband and I are history buffs. The literature provided was also a novel feature. That there was an art gallery in the hotel was quite impressive, although we didn't have enough time to visit it.
Breakfast was typical for this type of hotel. nothing spectacular but it gets the job done. Location wasn't bad at all, close proximity to Staunton Mischief & Magic festivities going on downtown. We appreciated the handicap parking options, some hotels only have one or two spaces available.
I stayed at a Comfort Inn the previous night in South Carolina (Tuesday) without a reservation and it was $50 more than this Comfort Inn. However I booked this hotel on Booking .com and received a much lower price in Staunton. I recommend you make a reservation on Booking.com
The rooms are huge. It is the second time we’re staying at a red roof inn, and both times we have had an amazing amount of space in a comfortable room. Nice outdoor area where people had barbecues. It felt more homey than most hotels.
We left our vaca in NC a day early because of a storm. Your hotel was able to, with a little upcharge,, to move our stay from Sat to Friday. We really appreciated that!
Clean with nice people. Very pet friendly. It may sound silly, but I like having enough outlets available to recharge phones, laptops, etc. They have plenty!
Room was decent enough and what I expected from this kind of hotel/motel. Bed was comfortable and there was an extra table that was nice to use for eating.
We love the location and the price. We can walk to all of downtown Staunton easily. Also I think they have purchased new beds since our last stay there c
