MacArthur place was a beautiful, relaxing and a perfect stay for us during our wedding week! The staff were accommodating, nice and friendly. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. We stayed in the magnolia cottage with the outdoor shower which was so lovely! The white rose bushes outside our porch were gorgeous. The food at Layla was also delicious. The service was great. The overall amenities were amazing, we loved the spa and had the best couples massage there. Couldn’t recommend more.

Nice staff and there’s a shuttle to the town (which you pay for in an extra fee at checkin so not really a perk or anything, you pay for it whether you use it or not)

I felt it was pretty, but it didn’t really have the choice of restaurants. I felt Napa was definitely the place to stay and they had more restaurants and more places to eat breakfast. Sonoma was a bit small.

Just an hour or so outside San Francisco, Sonoma is a picturesque city set among the vineyards in Northern California. It features a beautiful square with galleries, shops and restaurants. They often feature live music in the square. Great for a long weekend, the vineyards offer tours and tastings. There is also a wonderful cheese shop there. If you enjoy being active, don’t miss the hiking/biking trails in the area.

It is a quiet and over-looked town! MUST SEE! They have a cute downtown Sonoma Plaza, with a Visitor Bureau with free coupons (2 for 1 wine tasting), lots of cute and varied shops and restaurants. There are also a lot of museums and the Sonoma Mission right there. We visited Buena Vista, Gundlach Bundschu, and Jacuzzi wineries--ALL were beautiful! We had a great dining experience at Sonoma Grill and Bar in the back terrace.

Downtown Sonoma is a quaint town with cafes, galleries, a movie theater, and most importantly, two ice cream shops (we chose the Chocolate Cow). We also found a wonderful hike nearby called Sonoma Overlook in the downtown area. About 1.3 miles up for a beautiful view of the city.

The foods we tried were all delicious.
The foods we tried were all delicious. The town square and park were quaint as well as the city itself. I loved the architecture of the homes in the downtown area. The area is very walkable and there were many unique shops.
This apartment is so beautiful, high quality furnishings and fittings with every detail thought out. The bed was comfortable and cosy warm, the towels were luxurious, the shower had great water pressure. The kitchen has every quality appliance and utensil you can think of. The communication with the owner was always quick, thorough and seamless. I would highly recommend this apartment and will 100% stay here next time I'm in Sonoma! Genuinely one of the nicest places I've stayed and incredible value for the area!
Lovely , small boutique hotel with event space. We were there over the 4th of July and it was surprisingly quiet which was nice . Rooms are large and there is a communal area for guests which includes a refrigerator / water / coffee station / dishes / etc. All presented beautifully.
One of the nicest touches is the delivery of fresh breakfast pastry which is left at your door in a basket . When you are ready to greet the day , it is there for you !
We loved how private and quiet the Palm Court room was, along with the private deck and outdoor space. The room was well equipped and the air/heating unit was modern and worked perfectly. Also, the property was perfectly located to walk to the square and restaurants or make a couple of turns and drive to the wonderful wineries and attractions the Sonoma Valley has to offer.
The front desk staff was awesome, every person was pleasant! Breakfast was great every morning, quiche and fresh berries plus other continental breakfast items. Our room was quiet and comfortable, we had awesome weather and we were able to enjoy the heated pool. Within waking distance to the Sonoma Square which has great restaurants and tasting rooms.
Location was fine as long as you have a car. We taxied to the Sonoma square for the evening and dining. It wasn't far but too far for a walk. The restaurant around the corner offered a fantastic breakfast as the Motel offers none. The cost per night was fair compared to many accomodations. Cali isn't cheap
We are great fans of the Sonoma Plaza. This hotel is right on the corner of the plaza and so everything around the Plaza is within walking distance. There is a fabulous restaurant in the ground floor of the hotel and we had an excellent dinner on their patio.
Beautiful!!! We took the best pictures there among those wonderful trees with their color changing leaves. It’s location was at walking distance from the town square and across the street from a shopping center with groceries, pharmacy, restaurant, etc
Great location on the historic Sonoma Plaza. Walkable to shops, restaurants and wine tasting. Restaurant had good food. staff was friendly and helpful. Espresso in rooms. Coffee in the lobby each morning. Bathrobes provided.
It is a fabulous, quaint and quiet property very close, 2 mins walk to Sonoma square. The bedsheets and water pressure was great! the staff were lovely and gave us a lovely dinner recommendation .
The location was right on the square and made it very convenient for shopping and dining. Hotel was very nice and staff was great. Tasting room on the first floor. Complimentary on-site parking.
This little gem couldn’t have been in a better location to enjoy Sonoma Square. It had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The private hot tub was a bonus.
very comfortable hotel, with great staff. Nice and warm swimming pool. Very good breakfast. Good price. We really enjoyed our stay, we will come back again!!
