The breakfast was awesome -- the best I've had at any hotel. And in the evenings the hotel provided a beer get together with local beers. The staff was very accommodating, and van transportation was provided to where our cruise ship was docked.

We were on a short trip to see an art exhibit at a wonderful coffee house. We also browsed around the shops and enjoyed a great First Friday Art Walk and dinner at the Flamingo. It was a delightful weekend. Seward has much more to offer for a longer stay. The views of the mountains and the sea are stunning.

Seward is a nice small town.
Seward is a nice small town. We went during the off season. a lot of things where closed or had limited hours during our trip. We missed out on a few items we would have liked to check out but there was still plenty to do in the area. Recommend a wildlife boat tour, we had a blast and still saw a lot of wildlife so early in the year. The Alaska Sea Life Center is a must see any time.

Hotel was well situated in a retail area with many options for food, ice cream, coffee and and drinks. The views of the harbor and access to it were great and right out the back door. The complimentary breakfast was good with both hot and cold items.

Lots of construction driving to/from Seward from Anchorage, so it took way longer than we had anticipated. It was a cute town and we enjoyed our 8.5 hour glacier cruise. I would definitely take a shorter cruise. Fox Island was a great part of our cruise.

Seward is a charming waterfront town with plenty of good restaurants and things to do. We took two incredible boat tours with Kenai Ford Tours; they were fabulous. There is plenty of hiking, and the city is nestled between mountains. Seward is the kind of place you hate to leave.

Highly recommend coming to take a glacier tour, whale watch, hike or to take children to the aquatic life center. Nice, locally owned galleries and shops with friendly keepers. Easy to get around and can access local parks and walking trails with close by parking.
Excellent place to stay after roughing it on a cruise. We were lucky enough to be staying with other people (Ex US/CAN/British forces veterans) from all over the place and ended up singing around the fire, drinking bourbon until the early hours! Staying in the yurt was the highlight of our 2 week holiday in Alaska and Canada. The host (Heather) and her husband were exceptional, going the extra mile by booking a discounted excursion for us the next day.
Beautiful historic hotel, in a good location. Several options for eating and shopping within 3 minutes walk. The Sea Bean Cafe is very good for breakfast and lunch. Sea Life Center is also just 3 minutes walk. Free shuttle from the train station and to the cruise terminal. Seward is very beautiful, surrounded by awesome mountains and is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.
There were 3 good things about this hotel: 1. The desk clerk, a young woman from Thailand, was very helpful and friendly; 2. The location is good, being halfway between the downtown Seward and the harbor areas; and 3. The shower head has no government mandated flow control, so you can take a real shower and get the soap off of you, just like God intended!
Perfect location in the harbor area, convenient for Fjord tours and restaurants. Only a mile from downtown Seward. The older style hotel where we were is very nice with two lobby spaces and subtle Alaska decor. Comfortable room with a view of the lagoon and Mt Marathon. Also a motel addition with outdoor access and a restaurant for breakfast before tours.
The hotel is in an excellent location in downtown Seward. It doesn't have any special amenities, but the rooms are decent and staff friendly. Prices in Seward are expensive, but that's to be expected in a tiny town that is a port city for large cruise ships. The hotel is a heritage property, so don't expect it to look like a brand new Hyatt.
Location is good, 20 minutes walking to the harbor and a plenty of restaurants near the hotel, but the room is tiny and cheap looking, breakfast is limited frozen food. Compared to the price we paid, I think the hotel should provide better service. The only good thing about this hotel is the laundry inside the facility.
The harbor view was breathtaking—- we felt like we were inside a postcard. Breakfast room on the bay was bright, cheerful with great view, food was good and plentiful. We Loved this hotel and Seward, though the room price was pretty steep, otherwise we would have stayed longer.
The room was spacious, well-furnished, and very clean, and the hotel is nicely located near coffee shops and the Main Street area as well as several trailheads. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a pleasant spot to enjoy Seward and the surrounding area
Located in downtown Seward this hotel is close to everything. Being an older hotel, there are some drawbacks, but overall we really enjoyed the stay. The manager, George, is a unique individual who does a great job of taking care of the guests!
The breakfast was awesome -- the best I've had at any hotel. And in the evenings the hotel provided a beer get together with local beers. The staff was very accommodating, and van transportation was provided to where our cruise ship was docked.
The location was good and it's right on the route of the Seward free shuttle. The lady at the reception was very nice and since there was a room available, she let us have the room early.
Clean, cozy and functional apartment with well-equipped kitchen. We liked its quiet downtown location away from all hotels and the hustle and bustle of the port.
We were glad we didn't stay right in Seward - this had a lovely peaceful setting and was only a short drive from the town. Staff at check-in was friendly.
Owner Pete was very prompt to any concern, friendly, and thoughtfully took the time to make sure we had everything. Great location in beautiful Seward.
