Beautiful State! Wish we had an extra day to sightsee more! Tru By Hilton was a perfect hotel loved it! Mount Rushmore & Crazy Horse is a must see!!! Sturgis must come back when they have the biker rally!! Longhorn Steakhouse manager is awesome and food was delicious make sure to go and check them out!!!

Such a family friendly city. We did the Ft Hays tour of Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Sylvan Lake, supper and dinner show. Great tour highly recommend. Had 1 inch thi k 12oz prime rib at Colonial House..it was cooked perfect and only 24.99. I dream about it as it was that good.

Great place to be based in when visiting South Dakota. All parks and reserves are 20-30 minutes drive. Will need own transport to visit Black Hills, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial and all the quaint yet fantastic towns. Rapid city has great choices of restaurant. For Asian @ Thai Thai, for local @ Telly’s. Must go Sturgis, Deadwood, Hill City

Mount Rushmore is a wonderful place to visit.
Mount Rushmore is a wonderful place to visit. It has changed a lot since my wife visited here 32 years ago. It now has a museum, open theater and beautiful walks along the rock mountains. It is 30 minutes drive from Rapid City where you can find lot of motels. Driving is scenic to the National Memorial. Head out earlier to avoid traffic, they open at 5AM.
I felt right at home here I did not want to leave. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Pool was great. People were great. Location is perfect. As a motorcyclist, you can't get any closer to Needle Eye or Iron Mountain Rd., Sturgis is 40 minutes away. This hotel is downtown. Within short walking distance to coffee places, eateries, shopping, post office, grocery you have to go a little further, but everything you need is within a 10 minute drive or less. I was very comfortable here.
Everything was great! Convenient location. It is a large two-story complex that stretches out over a large area. If you or someone in your party has mobility issues you may want to ask for an appropriate room. Rooms are large, very clean and large. Rooms are very nicely furnished. My room had a small fridge, microwave, nice tv, desk and coffee maker. Beds were super soft and comfy. Prices in rapid city are high. This was most reasonable I could find, but it was a good stay
The lady at the front desk was very meticulous and helpful. The room was larger than I expected and had large comfortable furniture with a large usable desk and chair. It was a quiet location and a great pool area which was perfect on a hot day. It also had a hot and cold breakfast included and the room prices were very reasonable. I would certainly go back again. There is lots to see within 30 miles all around Rapid City, so good central point.
The property is in a VERY nice, upscale area of Rapid City. Close to the amenities, but far enough away from any noise or traffic. The caretaker was great and ensured there was nothing that would interrupt our trip. A good example of the driveway being shoveled every morning before we even woke up. Great hospitality all around. Saving this location for future visits.
I absolutely loved the updated room overall!! Nice and clean, modern, and comfortable. Also breakfast was great! So many more options rather than Grab & Go at many other hotels. Last but not least, the price! For such a cheap price you think it's in the bad parts of town....wrong! It's in a safe area, close to lots of Food, Gas, and shopping 👍🏾
This is the third time I’ve stayed at the Alex Johnson. I love this historic hotel. It has character, is warm and cozy, and is in a great location. Great hot water pressure in the shower. Front desk staff are helpful and friendly. The lobby is comfortable and inviting. Breakfast onsite at Paddy O’Neill’s is good value.
What a wonderful experience at this property. Everything was exceptional and beyond my expectations. The beds and pillows were perfect and I took advantage of room service for dinner time. The price was very reasonable and I would stay in this hotel again if ever in the area in the future
The hotel was quiet and clean. Grrar location relative to area attractions and easy to get in and out of the area. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was always warm and kept fully stocked. The room was spacious and comfortable for three adults.
This is a lovely hotel with beautiful facilities for the price. There is a great gym and seating area. Everything was better than I would expect for the (reasonable) price. It's also a handy location for people on road trips.

this was a great room. traveling with a 2 year old and 2 dogs it was still very very comfy. there is a pet area outside. perfect location with a good view of Rapid City. staff were all really nice always.
They charged unexpected money from my card a day after checkout. And I asked refund several times, they never refund. It's small amounts of money, but I really disappointed Radisson Hotels.
