Large comfortable room. Housekeeping came in each day to make the bed which was lovely and sadly seems to be unusual these days.

    I love staying in PA!

I love staying in PA! It's just city enough to have conveniences, but small town enough to feel like you've gotten away. I always walk the main street and the waterfront and eat at my favorite places (Straight Slice, Wellys, Sabai Thai). I love going into Sequim and Joyce and walking the beaches like Dungeness Spit and Murdock. It is a great location for hikes and nature.

    Port Angeles has good restaurants.

Port Angeles has good restaurants. There are some good bookstores, art galleries and gift shops. There is a good natural foods store downtown that sells fresh fruit and vegetables, wide selection of cheeses, freshly made sandwiches/soups and deli items. There’s a nice walking/bicycle path along the waterfront as well. It’s a nice place to visit.

We were just passing through, but Port Angeles is a cute town with many sites, shops, and assorted options for visitors who want to hike, walk, tour the seaside, or take the ferry to Victoria, BC. We'll be back to explore more, for sure!

Port Angeles was not our favorite place in WA...it lacked the charm of other towns but it remains a great base for accessing Olympic National Park. I do think PA is better than Forks. It was a short drive to Hurricane the park. Hurricane Ridge (FABULOUS)and Marymere Falls, and a couple hours to Hoh Rainforest. It didn't have a lot of choices to eat and as it was high season we struggled to find a table. Our meals were average.

We were just overnighting in PA as we had a ferry to catch to Victoria to have beer and burgers with old friends. We could have made the trip from Tsawwassen where we live, but made it an overnight road trip through Washington and travelled on the Port Townsend ferry. A well planned trip but poorly executed. We booked the ferry for the day after we needed it! We were fortunate to get the second ferry on standby. Love the area, we have been here a number of times. The Olympic mountains, coupled with ocean and lake views, what's not to love. Parking is a problem in the parks. We dined at the Gastropub Next Door. We waited an hour for a table (they don't take reservations) but the food was delicious, staff were good, and the beer was cold.

PA is a cute town however my experience did not meet my expectations, and they are not high. I dined at a local restaurant and the food was 2.5/5 (pics below-looks good but..). It was average quality for way above average price. It was disappointing. I don’t mind paying for quality but that didn’t come into play. And I’m not hard to please. Would I visit PA again? Yes. It’s cute and the ferry is a huge draw as well as its proximity to the Olympic Ntl Forest.

Had a great stay at the camp and the most comfortable sleep of our whole trip to the Olympic Park thanks to the comfy beds. The site had freshly cleaned bathrooms and showers and the owners were extremely helpful in the instructions to get there from Port Angeles. Price was very competitive compared with local hotels, and the tents were sturdy and gave the experience of camping under canvas without the hassle of having to set them up on arrival.

Every aspect of the Olympic Lodge exceeded our expectations, from communications beforehand, to the excellent staff, beauty of the. gathering area, the spectacular view of the golf course behind, and the spaciousness and comfort of the room. Location was excellent to get on the ferry, and restaurant recommendations were perfect. We are planning on staying here again next year.
