I have always looked forward to visiting New York City - I have been to New York many times over the years but not since Co-Vid. I am very sorry to say I was very disappointed at the changes in this vibrant city.
The food in a lot of the diners and smaller restaurants that we ate in were not good. I had known in advance that NY had become very expensive but there was always quality in the food and superb service. Always a big NY greeting and some banter no matter whether you were in a restaurant, diner, store or taxi. Sadly this time this was not the case. I found the City had lost its personality and it was hard to get away from the smell of hash on the streets.
The only place that redeemed our visit to NY was the Rangers game we attended in Madison Square Garden - efficient, professional and well run. I was delighted to see a little bit of the NY bravado and spirit that I remembered was still alive and kicking there.
We visited all the usual sights and NY is still thrilling and always worth the visit - what I missed most was the quality of service.
We stayed in Manhattan.

Visit New York, a vibrant city that never sleeps.
Visit New York, a vibrant city that never sleeps. There is something for everyone regardless of your interest.
Take the Circle line around Manhattan or the free Staten Island ferry giving you a fantastic view of the famous skyline. Take the 10 min ferry to Governors Island for a picknick .
Visit Hudson Yards and walk the HighLine
Take the Wall Street tour and learn about New York history and where money is "made".
Enjoy the nightlife, visit the Metropolitan Opera house or take in a Broadway show
Unfortunately an expensive city but read up and learn how to get by on limited budgets . Use the subway and buses, safer now with NYPD at most station
Your days, week will disappear quickly and you want to come back !

It is the perfect city to visit should you want to “get out of your head” and discover something different. Each sit block brings a variety of eateries; deli’s, restaurants and places of interest only a cab ride away. I took 2 art classes, participated in a “Painting in the Park” event, went to the Met and took an on-line writing class. I found a great coffe shop in the area that I went to every day that provided grounding for myself. This was a very happy trip!!😆😊

Always the same.
Always the same. Everyone trying to scam you (from the hotel trying to charge resort fees up to the guy selling pretzels at the street), several homeless asking for money and trying to intimidate you, the city stinks with marijuana smell and all drugstores, now, have most of the items locked in (due to thieves) making shopping an unpleasant experience.
Food is bad, in general and avoid touristic places at all costs. My son wanted to go to tavern on the green. It was a good experience and the staff was welcoming, but the food was not only overpriced but simply said: not good enough.
Just go somewhere else: North Carolina for instance. Ashville is amazing.

We associate so many sounds and sights with NYC from a variety of media that actually setting foot there boggles the mind. Over a (busy) week I’ve walked a lot in pretty much all the main boroughs of Manhattan (Greenwich Village, Harlem, Chinatown, East Village, Midtown, etc.) and I definitely would recommend everyone to alternate visiting iconic landmarks/museums such as the Empire State Building or the MoMA with a little walk in more residential neighbourhoods without any clear purpose, just to get a feel of how people live. My tips would be to avoid eating at restaurants (incredibly overpriced) and try quality takeout food from stores such as Whole Foods, and also take the free ferry to Staten Island instead of the expensive boat to the Statue of Liberty. You still get to see it and can keep your money for other endeavours. The MetroCard on the other hand is an excellent investment (all buses and subway lines for 33 dollars over a week).
If I had had a few more days I would have loved to spend some time in Brooklyn but Manhattan is such a fascinating place with so much to do, I couldn’t make it. Next time!
The location was amazing for a stay in New York City!! It is not only in the times square area, but it also has so many of the subway stations close by that it really is an amazing hotel location. I was pregnant at the time of my stay so having things close by and tons of options to get back to the hotel (in case I needed to go back to the bathroom, BTW there is a bathroom in the lobby that works with your hotel room card so you don't have to go all the way back up to your room) was a big deal and would recommend just based on location.
It is in a great location. A couple of blocks away from Times Square and the subway station. We had the room with a city view, which made it a little bit nicer. The bathroom was very nice. Rooms are not that big, but enough to be comfortable. The hotel has a bar on the first floor, so was great to have some drinks at night. Breakfast was awesome! It had a lot of healthy options and the room was big so you could sit fast. A great hotel to enjoy New York City!
The location is an excellent place very close to Times Square and also many subway stations. Travel to various places within Manhattan was really easy, fast and cheaper with the $33 7 Days Subway pass. The breakfast is kinda good and it is a repeat of the same items almost every day. As the hotel hosts around 500 rooms, the breakfast crowd is really big and you will need to hit the queue before 6:30 AM, else it can take long time.
Very quiet, cozy and pleasant environment, friendly people, cozy rooms, warmth and moderate comfort. In addition to everything, a comfortable and good bed, a closet for luggage and clothes. The room is small, but it does not create discomfort. At this price, there is no better place in midtown Manhattan. We spent eight happy days in New York and the hotel environment made the trip more enjoyable.
We were pleasantly surprised by Radio City Apartments! We were a family of 5 and the 2 bedroom apartment was perfect with all we needed for a weeks stay. The apartment decor was a bit dated but very clean, well equipped and serviced daily! The staff were friendly. The location is right near Times Square and there is a metro on the corner. Great value for money in New York considering the room size.
We had a great experience at the Moderne NYC. The location was excellent, with Columbus circle a very short walk, and easy distance for Times Square. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and a good size for New York. Best of all were the team- we spent a week at the hotel and everyone we met was kind and accommodating.
We will book here again the next time we’re in New York.
SIXTY Soho was and always will be the best hotel to enjoy New York City & Manhattan - lots of cafes and restaurants around and easy access to Midtown, Brooklyn and Financial District. The Staff is exceptional from front desk to housekeeping - customer focus, friendly and supportive. we also will come back a third time 😍
Great location. Times Square is across the street from the hotel. Best Manhattan attractions are within walking distance. There is subway nearby - lines in different directions.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but comfortable.
The Bryant Park hotel is the great boutique hotel. 4star hotel, 5star staff, 5star location. In the heart of Manhattan and New York City. Best place for exploring all around. Amazing Bryant park, with all activities, vibrant place. Highly recommended.
We love this hotel. This is the second time we’ve stayed and I would definitely stay again the next time I’m in New York City. The location is fabulous, the rooms are clean, and I just love the restaurants and everything about the area.
the location is perfect for exploring the southern part of Manhattan. I’m coming to New York for more then 20 years, but due to business I’ve always stayed in midtown. This area is much more fun.
the hotel is close to a subway station.
- hotel is just a few minutes walk from the Times Square
- amazing breakfast, it is the best open buffet breakfast in New York
- rooms are very clean
- very helful and supportive staff at the reseption (special thamks to Ariel)
Fantastic hotel, with perfect location close to lots of restaurants and shops. It sits in New York City’s best area. Rooms are clean, very nice and the bed is super comfy. Precisely what you need after long walks in the city!
I stayed there for 16 nights. Loved how clean it is. The location is quite central. Near to subway stations and just a 10 minutes walk from Times Square. Recommended if you're looking for cheap accomodation in Manhattan.
The Palace/Towers is arguably the best located hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Service all around is outstanding. A little pricey, but NYC as a whole is pricey. Great place to stay if visiting New York City.
The location right next to Central Park and within walking distance of Broadway, Times Square etc is good for a first time visitor to the city. It was the cheapest place I could find in Manhattan.
