We loved the character of all the rooms- each was unique. The staff was very friendly and kind, and they gave us a free upgrade because our original room’s A/C went out. The bathtub was great and the bed was comfortable.

The bed was comfortable but it was a dirty room that needed vacuumed and there was MOLD on the bathroom walls of room 109. Dont rent there . We will never again book a room from wingate in mentor ever again. There was no maid service to bring fresh towels and there was no hot breakfast on Saturday. We will never ever book again with them.

Lots of activities.
Lots of activities. Came because I had a stroke and could get to the sand and sit on a log while family walked beach. Could not make it to the water thru sand buy close and loved the sites and sounds of the Lake. Hotels, restaurants close. Many activities for nature and friendly people.loved Headlands beach.loved lighthouses nearby .

This was an outstanding place to go for a one-tank vacation with my sister for Girls Week Away. Drove from Columbus to Vermilion then stopped at Huntington Beach then stayed in Mentor. Saw the Garfield house, the Headlands beach, Wildwood, Holden arboretum, Himalayan Salt caves, and the Mentor Lagoon with its private rocky beach. Went to the Sisters Tea Room, but didn’t get to eat there. Plenty to do—but loved historic Vermilion so much, we ended up going back that way to see the shops that were closed on Sunday.
I love the location. The restaurants and gas stations are really close. I was really impressed that I could just walk out of the hotel and walk right up to the restaurant of my choice. There are so many restaurants to choose from that will take care of everyone's craving. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. I really loved when I checked in, the check in clerk was very nice and helpful. I didn't stay for breakfast this stay as I was leaving so early but I will try it on my next visit.
location, value, all were excellent. I did not expect much because of the rating, as well as the cheap cost. when we got in, it was very close to so many places to eat, entertainment, shopping, couldn’t be beat. room was clean, and had all the amenities I needed, keeping in mind this isn’t a 4/5 star hotel. what it is, is a very comfortable, inexpensive, clean room that gets you close to everything you want. very happy with my stay.
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and each time, without fail, they issue two keys at check in abs neither works. So I have to lug my bags back to the desk to be re-keyed..... annoying.
Then prior to checkout the keys deactivate and I'm lectured that, "keep the keys away from your cellphone. " I never place my key near my cell phone. I keep my cellphone on my hip via a belt clip and the card in my pocket.
The staff were extremely helpful, I had an exam at the nearby prometric center and I was very stressed as the uber was taking too long but then one of the staff at the reception was super kind and offered me a ride to the exam center, and I was able to reach there on time. Unfortunately I don’t know his name but would really like to thank him for his extreme kindness. Also the hotel is very nice and clean.
Absolutely nothing!! Me and my husband have been put on the dnr list for no reason at all. I've spent thousands of dollars with this hotel over the last year. lived here for months at a time never had any issues. Couldn't even give me a reason for it. They have sex offenders working and living there it's disgusting.
The room was great! Nice and clean. Beds were super comfy. Breakfast was one of the best we've had in a hotel. Staff were really nice and helpful!! Close to alot of things, including the beach with a beautiful sunset!! It's just right down the road!!
It was very easy to book online and the hotel was in a good location and easy to locate. The desk clerk was friendly and helpful in giving us instructions on where to park in relation to our room. Check out was easy as well!
100% top notch. Staff was amazing from front desk to housekeeping. Very clean great showers and very comfortable bed. We stay in Mentor once a year and will not stay at another location again. Great value
In Mentor Ohio...small, clean town with everything. Close to Lake Erie Headlands Beach State Park, with beautiful beach and seemingly ocean views and tides. A great get away for families.
The hotel was beautiful and our room was excellent. Plenty of space and was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Would recommend and would definitely stay again when in the area.
Nice accomodation that was booked at a moments notice due to issues at our first choice. Was not dissapointed as a budget hotel. Perfect location for visiting Cleveland
