My friend and I took a girls trip to celebrate us both turning 50 this year! This place was so amazing that our birthday expectations were met 10 fold. We loved the tiny town, which we walked to from the Inn. We ate both at brunch and dinner at the Inn, and both times the food was incredible. Our room was so luxurious, and the grounds were absolutely stunning! We actually went upstairs to the roof top terrace and play games one afternoon, and it was perfect. We will definitely be going back! Next time, we will bring our husbands! :)

We were right in town, close to the cafes, restaurants and shopping. The train was startling at first (especially the first night) but we embraced and loved it by the end. We would get so excited when we could hear the ding ding dings in the distance and run out on the front porch and wave. We had a 6- and 7-year-old with us who absolutely loved it. There was plenty of towels, the showers had shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Every bathroom had hand soap. The kitchen was fully loaded with paper towels, trash bags, dish soap and dishwasher pods. The hot tubs was HUGE! There were 7 of use total and we all fit very comfortably. The neighbors were super nice also. They had cats and ponies that they let us pet and love on. We also loved the front porch. We sat out on the porch allot drinking coffee and talking while watching the cars and people walking go by. It was a girl's trip celebrating my daughter's 40th birthday and she kept telling me .... "This house is awesome Mom thanks so much for making the arrangements". We visited the Caverns which were amazing and ate dinner the Chop House Bistro. We had a most excellent time!

Quiet, clean, nice area. I got caught in high winds weather while traveling by motorcycle the day of check in. I called close to the cut off time for check in and the clerk stayed until I was able to arrive to check in. She made me feel very welcomed at the motel.

We enjoyed the trip over Skyline Drive.
We enjoyed the trip over Skyline Drive. Glad we picked a sunny day. We had a nice breakfast at the Gathering Grounds cafe in Luray, steak dinner at Dan's Steakhouse, and Italian at Dominico's in Luray. The best kept secret for good country breakfast and lunch is the Hawksbill Diner in nearby Stanley VA.
Also enjoyed visiting the New Market battlefield and Route 11 Potato Chip factory.
Shenandoah Caverns is different from Luray Caverns, and features an amazing side attraction of animated scenes made for parade floats.
Skyline Caverns is not recommended for small children or adults with balance issues, as the walkway is uneven, steep in some places, and wet in others. It does have one rare and beautiful type of calcite formation that only exists one other place in the world.

The caverns are ok.
The caverns are ok. For me, it turned out that I was bored almost immediately. 40 feet of cave is pretty much a synopsis for the remaining tour. Marketing at it's best unless you are bonkers for caves. The is an antique car museum on site which was just wow. Super cool cars that were very presentable and interesting all around. The zoo in Luray was nice. It is a retirement/ rescue zoo. I love those. Great restaurants. There is an escape room. Remote town, very perfectly laid back.

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Shenandoah.
This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Shenandoah. There is a lovely walking trail in this charming town. My foodie husband got his breakfast at Broad Poarch while I preferred the 24 hour SevenEleven. I like that kind of coffee better! We never made it to the caverns but will for sure next time. You have to get to the national park early to avoid the crowds and lines. Be sure to eat the world's best barbecue at Triple Crown. You can go there in your hiking clothes and you won't leave hungry. Catch the sunset on the Storybook Trail in the George Washington National Forest on Mt. Massenutten.

Really liked Luray as a town.
Really liked Luray as a town. Last minute “fun” trip with my husband. People very friendly. Jess’ world famous hotdogs were nothing to speak of just a regular hotdog. Backporch coffee great little coffee shop. We love the Main Street of town, caverns and sky line drive. Will definitely go again.
Luray was perfectly located for exploring the Shenandoah National Park, our main reason for going. It's 20 minutes from the park entrance and in the center of the park, making all of our explorations very accessible. The Court Street inn is easy walking distance from several very good restaurants, a craft brewery, free live music in the park and beer garden in Luray. We spent our days hiking in the park, and evenings relaxing with great food, drink and music. A great weekend getaway. Will definitely return and recommend to our friends.
Excellent location for what we needed - peace, quiet, stress-free relaxation, within easy reach of local trails. It met all our expectations and we were well-informed by the hosts about the facilities, local attractions and how the hot tub worked! The large deck is great for watching fire flys in the evening after an easy BBQ. The local nature - birds, deer, river, waterfalls and walks there are superb. It's great countryside around Luray.
The best supplied kitchen, there was even a waffle maker. We enjoyed the quiet and enjoyed nature to its fullest. Deer walked through the yard, camp fire a night with the sound of crickets and watching fire flies. The cabin is small but easily designed to suite a family. Much better than a hotel. A great stay for easy access to the things we planned on doing on our vacation.
The room was very well appointed. They had every amenity I could possibly think of and everything seemed to be of high quality. The location was excellent for accessing the Luray greenway, restaurants, and shopping. The Luray Caverns are only 2 miles away. Breakfast was superb.
Convenient to Shenandoah NP pretty accessible to things in the middle section of the park. Walkable to several places in Luray- greenway, an older park and some restaurants. Quick drive to Luray Caverns and a few other restaurants.
Host was very responsive.
From the beginning the checking in, the staff was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable and perfect location for doing Skyline Dr. and the Luray Caverns. We were surprised how delicious breakfast was the next morning at the restaurant downstairs :)
We stayed at the Cardinal Inn 2-3 nights per week for the last 8 months while our house was being built. The facilities were great, the staff was great, we felt welcome and safe. I would recommend the Cardinal Inn to anyone visiting Luray, Virginia.
It was off season, so not too many people around. We had a great time exploring the Luray Caverns! We are hoping to bring our grown sons and family there sometime soon, so we can also do the other activities that the caverns and Luray have to offer!
Very modern, clean property within close proximity to local shops and Luray Caverns. The rooms looked great and the cleanliness level was excellent. Well stocked with towels and reasonable selection of cooking pots.
This is a lovely inn close to Luray Caverns, which was our destination. The staff was great, so friendly. Our room was comfortable and clean. We highly recommend. Also the restaurant on the premises was delicious!
The campsite is a beautiful location, right on the river, in the middle of most attractions in Luray. The Skyline drive is a short distance, Luray Caverns, Hiking Trails and plenty of Museums to choose from.
Perfect location to visit the Luray Caverns and I had direct view to the mountains. Sadly they don't offer breakfast at the property buy they gave us a 20% off in the breakfast place next to the Caverns
Spacious accommodation. Beds were very comfortable. The games room and outdoor space were great for entertaining our children. Nice location in Luray with easy access to lots of sites. Wifi was good.
The hotel was perfect for a stop going to Shenandoah. It has everything you need for a night. Nice shower, a good bed, and the air conditioner was working great. Great value for your money.
I liked the location. It's very close in proximity to little eateries and shops. I loved the walking area behind the inn. I also loved the fact that it's very close to the Luray Caverns.
Excellent place to stay in Luray as a couple. Very beautiful rooms, cozy beds, good breakfast, and generous complementaries. This was just great and can only be highly recommended!
