The breakfast sandwiches and coffee were good. The sign said breakfast opened at 7 am, but it was usually open by 6 am, which we appreciated. The proximity to the pub was great -- what a fun place! The woman at the front desk was friendly and helpful. I wish I had checked in with her and not the weird kiosk.

Seal Cove Inn, hotel in Half Moon Bay

Ideally located on a bluff above the Pacific Ocean, Seal Cove Inn is located in Half Moon Bay, just 30 minutes' drive from San Francisco.

The room was as described on website which has not always been my experience. The staff( Sharon and Mary) were helpful and accommodating. We were treated as family. The inn was close to a preserve so we had walking trails in close proximity. There were several restaurants within a few miles to choose from . My mother in law really appreciated the fireplace and access to beverages when desired . The beds slept well .

Half Moon Bay is a small community with loads of weekend visitors. Hence, nutty traffic on the weekends. Restaurant options were a mixed bag - found a great Italian place (Pasta Moon) and a horrible Indian place (India Beach).

Lovely hotel & location, but certain services and facilities are curtailed at different times of the year..,.eg the dining room was closed during our stay, as was the bar and the spa. This meant no breakfast was available, and all meals/drinks needed to be taken outside of the hotel.

We stayed in Half Moon Bay to stay out of the SF/Silicon Valley crazy but many of our activities were over on the east side of the peninsula. The seafood was fantastic (Sam's Chowder House) and the beaches and road side farms were as well.

Walked from Harbor Inn to the restaurants and moorings in the harbor across the street. Beautiful harbor, lots of walking opportunities, and a lot of choices to places to eat. I ate at Barbara's Fish Trap right on the wharf. Fresh broiled sea bass was amazing and the service was great.

Half moon bay is a great weekend visit.

Half moon bay is a great weekend visit. While there is not much to do late at night, there is plenty to do during the day and evening. We spend the day/night visiting shops, going wine tasting, walking on the beach, and going out to eat. Although we sometimes like to stay out late, it was nice to come back a little early and relax back where we were staying. Everyone in town is very friendly!

Half Moon Bay is a beautiful location. The Hotel Staff is wonderful. Felt sorry for the front desk attendants as other guests who had a similar experiences to my own - booked a room believing they had an ocean view - but did not. Perhaps the hotel should provide photos of the actual rooms guests are booking, so we know exactly what to expect. Would certainly make life easier on your welcome Staff as well.

Location on the beach and the calm relaxing feeling in the hotel One of my absolut favorite hotels in the Bay area. Allthough it starting to be old and worn., First time I stayed here it was new. Rooms in need for upgrading. Breakfast is perfect to bring up yourself to the balkony and the area is absolutelly beautiful. The openfire is perfect on a foggy Novemberdays.

Charming hotel, greeted by loads of flowers and cozy interiors. Stayed in the Botticelli room; was spacious enough to accommodate two large open suitcases. Comfortable bed and pillows. Stayed early May and it was quiet at night. Free parking onsite. Short jog down to the coastal trail and very close to the main road with restaurants, cafes and gift shops.

The rooms were very large and we had an ocean view. The location was very quiet for a good nights sleep. It was our son-in-laws BD and the hotel gave him a birthday card and a bottle of good wine. Very sweet. Having a noise machine is a nice option, but we found we did not need it with the frogs sounds and the fog horn.
