I was only there for the NHRA drag racing at the Gainesville track so didn't have time to see anything of Gainesville. But the Red Roof was very convenient for Gainesville Raceway, only 15 miles away so I would definitely return

Getting around Gainesville is very easy.
Getting around Gainesville is very easy. There's lots to do there. We visited the Butterfly Exhibit but did not have enough time to see the Museum of Natural History or the Art Museum. No lack of dining options. We chose to dine at Carabbas and both the service and food didn't disappoint. Lots of places to shop. With the University of Florida located there, it provided for a very youthful environment which we totally enjoyed. This is a town worthy of a visit.

Easy to get around.
Easy to get around. On Archer Rd and around the I75 exit, there was every store/resturant you could imagine. Gainesville is definitely a college town. Shands Hospital is wonderful and very conveniently located.

Loved university of FL! We went for a college tour.
Loved university of FL! We went for a college tour. While our walking tour was cancelled due to rain, the students did an excellent job speaking and telling us about the highlights of the school. We were lucky to have spent time walking around the day before. It’s a beautiful school. Very impressed. Also….Sweet Pete’s candy shop was awesome!! So much fun to walk through a 3 story candy shop! Beautifully decorated for fall/Halloween! Yummy too! 😍

Well Gainesville around UF is very much a college town and a bit run down. Away from the University it had several nice looking neigborhoods but without UF, Gainsville would not have much going for it.
Nothing fancy here, but it was clean and the staff was very friendly and professional. We were desperate to find a hotel near the Gainesville airport because our flight to Ft. Myers was moved to Gainesville. Apparently there was a very big college football game which filled up all the big name hotels. We only needed a place to sleep one night, so this one did the trick. We have no complaints.
At the same time, the hotel had some really nice details, such as free popcorn and cookies in the afternoon and a free newspaper in the morning. Breakfast was generous even if very crowded. I would suggest to make turns to avoid having too many people in the breakfast room. Otherwise, the hotel could re-arrange the location of the breakfast food to make it easier to pick it when crowded.
We needed to stay downtown Gainesville for a night, and not only was this the least expensive option, but I was amazed at the facilities. The bedroom was extremely comfortable, sizeable and clean, but the swimming pool really stole my heart. So often hotels advertise a swimming pool one can hardly swim in, but Hyatt's pool is looooong! and the deck is amazing. Would recommend!
This was without a doubt the best hotel stay, from staff to all the extras dinner drinks, free sodas. Absolutely the best value for my hard earned money. I come to Gainesville, for my son's appt at Shands every year. I have stayed in many hotels down there. I will be staying at this hotel every year from now on.
The hotel is in a very convenient location near the doctors offices we were visiting as well as near shopping and restaurants. We were given options for where we wanted the room within the hotel. Hotel staff was nice and friendly and were readily available to answer questions and come up with solutions.
The manager Samatha. She had her hands full, but was try to be accommodating. She did a great job for what she had to deal with. There should be security and 24 hour maintenance available. Especially since it's an extended stay hotel.
At first, they were very polite and even let us check in early. The outside of the hotel is very nice looking with a fresh paint job. The rooms also, at first glance, looked nice.
It went downhill very fast though.
Hampton Inn is my favorite hotel chain. the beds and pillows are very comfortable, the breakfast is good and staff is always friendly. Bonus points for a pet friendly hotel and always very clean.
This was my first time at a Drury and it will not be my last. I will continue to use the DRury as long as there will be one available on any other future travels. Very Well Pleased!!!
Second Marriott hotel in two weeks beds were horrible. Rooms were dirty and they tried to make it look new, but it was super old. tile unfinished in shower , dirt very old no amenities
Brand new hotel, nice staff, has a restaurant that served me even after hours. Parking is free during the night on the street, otherwise there is a parking house just opposite.
everything... One of the best hotels in Gainesville. Bed is always comfortable. If I need to work; the desk and chair are the best. It's my go-to when in Gainseville.
Location of the hotel near the University. The restaurant was very convenient and we had great service from our waiter. The valet parking was great too!
