Breakfast was good and we love the location. There was no bar soap on the bathroom counter this time but apparently it was a shipping issue.

Location was great only 20 minutes away from Portland. Absolutely lovely house and even better hosts! Lovely breakfast every morning. I slept great every night and Kelleigh and Dave went above and beyond to accommodate.

The Casco Bay Inn was our lodging choice based on value from other reviews. We got the value we’d hoped for. The outlet stores and food options were all great and we had a fantastic time.
We were there in April 2024. We enjoyed the early season benefits of low traffic volume, easy parking and uncrowded sidewalks. And while some seasonal businesses were closed there were plenty of opportunities to eat and shop.

We enjoyed taking in the stunning Maine fall foliage this weekend that included a stop in Freeport. We had dinner at the Muddy Rudder in nearby Yarmouth, and breakfast at the Freeport Cafe. My eggs benedict were great, but the grilled orange chocolate muffin I took to go was out of this world! At downtown Freeport Village there are a multitude of shopping outlets, a variety of restaurants, ample free parking and wide sidewalks and crosswalks make getting around easy. We shopped the LL Bean stores of course. This Freeport shopping excursion ended with a considerable haul for the newest member of our family from the Carter's Osh Kosh b'Gosh store, where we found some fantastic bargains.

The town of Freeport is darling!
The town of Freeport is darling! I would highly recommend visiting it. We went to the LL Bean compound; VERY impressive, and it's HUGE! Part of the retail space is open 24/7! We had excellent service and baked goods and coffee at The Bakeshop cafe.

We love LLBean!
We love LLBean! The other stores in the immediate area have something for everyone. We also like 3 of the local gift shops - Mangy Moose, Sherman’s, and The Blue Lobster. We ate lunch at the Harrakeeset Lunch and Lobster on the Wharf and also Linda Bean’s Maine Kitchen and Topside Tavern. For dinner we ate at The Taste of Maine which is about a half hour drive up Rt.1 in Woolwich which is just above Bath. Well worth the trip!
It is very easy to get around in Freeport and parking if you don't stay at the Hilton is free and easy to find.

We stayed in Freeport more for the location than what the town has to offer. Just north of Portland (roughly 15 minutes south) and within an hour drive to Boothbay Harbor - this was the perfect location for our planned day trips.
Traveling through Freeport, be careful of shoppers crossing the street. They do not look and absolutely expect drivers to stop once their feet hit the pavement. On the weekend (Sat PM) LL Bean sometimes hosts live music, which can lead to difficulty parking (it happened to us).
We always beeline for the Maine Idyll as our vacation doesn't truly begin until we get to this wonderful spot. The facilities , here, match exactly the pace that we set for our vacations in Maine. We stay at the Idyll every time we pass through the Freeport area. The rustic cabins each have a little fireplace and are always immaculately kept. The location, on Rt 1, just north of Freeport is the perfect spot to get off the interstate and start exploring the magnificent Maine Coast!
If you're used to getting pampered by luxury hotels, I can definitely say Casa Alchimia will meet, if not exceed your expectations. It is a hidden gem amongst all the old and outdated properties in New England.
The hosts were so nice and accommodating to our family, and the breakfast was amazing. The location was excellent and great for walking into Freeport.
We will definitely be staying here again in all of our future stays in Freeport.
Wonderful experience at Maine Idyll Motor Court! We had a two bedroom cabin at a very reasonable price. Real fireplace with matches and firewood provided. Vintage furniture and comfortable beds. Easy access off the highway, and close to shopping in Freeport. I wish we had stayed there longer and skipped our hotel in Boston! Beautiful setting in the woods with friendly and helpful staff.
Easy check in. spacious room and comfy bed. All the staff we encountered were friendly. Pet friendly hotel, even though we weren't travelling with pets. Coffee in the lobby. Access to floor three was fairly easy and the room was quiet.
The Inn is in a beautiful location on the main street through Freeport, with lots of shops, cafés, and restaurants within walkable distance. The building itself is historic and very well-maintained. Our room was spacious and clean.
The hotel was a good price and one of the only available options for that date. It was clean and had larger room which was nice. The breakfast was also a bonus.
The hotel was only 18 minutes outside of Portland, a definitely doable commute from our show that night. Room was super-clean, and the nearby cafe was excellent!
