Carowinds were great, not a favorite yet to tell of. It were so hot we only did fries, but more drinks than normal. really didn't explore Fort Mill, we went for Carowind/Harbour. We didn't encounter anything to avoid.

There were minor problems such as no hair dryer in the room, and short on towels. Walls were not insulated so you could hear EVERYTHING around you, but the rooms were VERY clean and the breakfast was great. The BIG problem I had was it says it accepts dogs (which it did), BUT there was a $53.00 additional charge for the dog which we were not aware of until we got there to check in. It was too late to change to a different hotel. We have a therapy dog which travels with us and this is the first time we have been charged for the dog to stay with us. I understand if there was a refundable dog fee in case the dog damaged the room, but to just charge that much money for ALL dogs is not right. Due to this fact, we will never stay at a TRU hotel again.

Fort Mill was not the problem, it was the horrible hotel...
Fort Mill was not the problem, it was the horrible hotel that we reserved off Booking.com. Someone needs to be fired for having this hotel on your website. There were multiple police cars when we returned in the evening, the majority of the guests looked homeless. Some of the vehicles in the parking lot had so much stuff in them it looked like they were lived in. NO maintenance or upkeep done to the hotel and it just felt dirty, oddly enough the bedding seemed clean. The best thing that can happened to you at this hotel is that you just get lice or bedbugs, the worst is robbed, raped, stabbed or killed.

We go to Fort Mill, SC to see family. We love the town and wouldn't mind living there. The people are very nice and there are a lot of restaurants to choose from. My dad and his wife have a little garden at the community garden and you have a place to walk and have a picnic

This hotel is convenient to Narroway Productions (w/in walking distance) and convenient to Carowinds. Good location and very clean. Newer facility; I hope the staff keeps it as sparkling as it is right now over the long term. :-)
The location was perfect for our trip. The hotel is situated at the end of a street nap no excessive thru traffic all hours of the night. The breakfast was good. It was your basic hot breakfast: waffle, bacon, eggs and sausage. The rooms were clean. The turn down service was unexpected. Seems everyone quit doing that after Covid.
Well thought out design and furnishings. charging ports everywhere!! how awesome. love the added extra touch of the shampoo, conditioner, lotion etc being provided in more of an environmental way than the small one time use bottles of most other hotels. love the pool table and game area in the lobby / social area. very inviting.
Booked a room through a third party website, when I got to the hotel, I was alerted that the room was unavailable. I spoke with the nastiest hotel employee I’ve ever encountered. She could not have cared one bit less that I was stranded without a room. She was so nasty that I actually feel sorry for her employees.
The place is very close to Carowinds, like 5 min drive away. Since I'm in the area only to visit the park, this is a big plus for me. Allowed me to pop in and out of the park easily, also to stay late in the park without worrying to drive a long way back to the hotel.
The room was big & comfortable.
Desk attendants were friendly and understanding of our desire to not stay in the facility due to the uncleanliness of the hallways entering our room, our room itself, and the surrounding area (non-residents of hotel hanging out in back of hotel, litter, alcohol use, old furniture, etc.)
Each and Every Staff made an effort to notice you and speak . Every need I had they staff took care of it instantly . Wonderful Team at Fort Mill SC . Great Staff , Great Atmosphere . Breakfast was decent but needed waffle maker or frozen pancake to microwave or toast .
What a pet-friendly hotel! The staff greeted our little terrier by name. And other guests with dogs were friendly, as were their well-behaved pets. We enjoyed the hipster lobby. The rooms are very comfortable, immaculate and attractive. Plenty of pillows, linens, etc.
I loved having a full kitchen with a full size refrigerator and the room was nice & clean. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of hot & cold choices. Staff were courteous & friendly. Location of the hotel was close to many great shops & restaurants.😊
This hotel totally exceeded our expectations by miles. We showed up very late due to traffic, front desk agent was awesome, very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely book here again.
The breakfast was "normal" and the best among the 10 other hotels of our roadtrip. The staff was helpful and change our room because of the marijuana ....the place and equipments are great
This was just a quick stop on our trip to Hilton head, but we were very surprised at how nice the hotel was! Such a great value for the price! Would definitely stay here again!
