The place is ideal for people who need to stay near the airport, almost all the hotels offer shuttle services. It's near the CTA station as well. Many chained fast food/ restaurants along with all retail stores are nearby as well.

i was awoke at 11:48 p.m. claiming they smelled smoke. i was sleeping in my underwear. i told him he did not have permission to enter, however, he DID enter my room while my girlfriend and I were sleeping in our underwear. Thankfully, the door was latched. They then charged me $250, i asked for proof, they said they had pictures and i am still waiting for that. Horrible place.

Where to start in describing my short stay at the Best...
Where to start in describing my short stay at the Best western Des Plaines? I travel for work so I booked here for 3 nights through booking .com. I work in healthcare and I work night shift. And despite informing the receptionist that I would kindly like not to be disturbed during the day, I did not get to a chance to sleep. Firstly, the house keeping kept knocking on my door the whole day, shouting in the hallway and at some point they opened my door twice. I kept ignoring them but later when I got to open, there was a guy at the door who walked into my room right away to test the fire alarm. I found this both rude and as a woman traveling alone very uncomfortable. During my second day I made a decision to shorten my stay therefore I decided to check out at 6pm yet they charged my card for 3 nights. When I called, the manager was very rude to me “That is our policy” he kept repeating in a tone I wouldn't use on a dog. “Your policy is being flexible, our policy states no refund” we were exchanging words back and forth because I did not understand why they had to charge me for the 3rd night I did not use.
Fast forward, To my return I then contacted the central customer support helpline, they forwarded my complaint to the hotel and probably the same manager I spoke to who reiterated their policy again 3 weeks later.
In short let me summarize.
Customer service non existent.
Cleanliness. Poor
Comfort. Poor
Value for money VERY poor.
If you are thinking of staying Western Des plaines. Look for another hotel!

It's a good place to stay, especially if you travel for events. There's food options within walking distance (if it's nice enough) and it's about 10 minutes (or less) away from a lot of noteworthy spots in the area.
Shuttle driver was very nice and went beyond to help me with my MANY pieces of luggage and my children.
Staff was very friendly and gave me advice on food to order as we arrived late.
Room was clean, big. Beds were very comfy fell asleep instantly. And my children did too.
Shower was nice and had all facilities.
Great location from airport only 6 minutes drive
Didn't do breakfast was only there for stop over but would like to go back and get the full experience of the hotel a d Chicago
HORRIFIC! NOT good at all! Poor options; breakfast, unacceptable; i.e., eggs overcooked!
Overcrowded hotel with 'Sanctuary City' contingents that crossed the Border from Mexico
into the United States.
Dirty ... in the lobby area and in the elevator
People that crossed the Border lottered outside people's doors. At the minimum of four
(4) times x; I saw a man loitering outside my room.
New, "European style" hotel. Bright colors; clean lines. Appreciated not having carpet in the room. Good value for the money. Located across from shopping and eating. The breakfast was surprisingly good, given the otherwise minimalist style of the hotel. Felt safe. Enjoyed watching the commuter train roll by.
Beautiful home with tasteful designs for the kitchen and bathrooms. Complimentary snacks upon arrival - thank you! The house is located in a quiet neighborhood and it seemed safe around the area. There are lots of spices and supplies in the kitchen for cooking up a meal.
I did a search for hotels close to the airport and this provided the best value with the nice facilities including a swimming pool (which I used) and airport shuttle (which was very convenient since I did not have a car).
Very clean hotel, check in very quick. Breakfast is an added plus, including a couple of hot items and healthy items you could grab and go. We had a 6 hour drive home, so that was very much appreciated
The whole family slept like babies. Best sleep I've had in months and certainly best sleep ever in a hotel. Check in was a breeze and the whole hotel was very very clean.
