We loved the proximity to the beach and the easy access to boardwalk. The rooms were large, beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was great! All of the hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. The inside looks like a tropical atrium.

The room was very comfortable. The cafe and restaurant were both great. I needed to exchange my meal and had great service from the restaurant and room service. The walking trail was beautiful for an evening stroll and the view was greating having lunch either indoors or out. Wish I had more time to try the yoga, wine tasting, and bikes!

First of all, the staff was very nice and apologized for the major renovations going on in the hotel. We arrived and there was lots of jack hammering going on, the lobby was all tarped off, so no pool, no food off of the menu was available at the rooftop lounge. The only food available was frozen pizza from the grocery store and frozen egg rolls. It would have been nice for booking .com to alert consumers that this hotel is under major renovations and no food service nor pool is available.

Husband and I stayed one night to catch a fishing charter scheduled for the following morning. The location was perfect... Walking distance to food, shopping, marina and beaches... Rooms were clean and the staff was polite and helpful... Other than the few issues listed below, we would definitely stay here again and recommend others give it a try...
* The location of our room on the second floor, left us with no privacy, Unless we kept the drapes drawn, hotel guests stepping off the elevator were able to see directly into our room...

Lovely place to stay for decent rates and nice staff and pool! Clean and quick to all sites from Newport to San Diego. Stayed 40 years ago and it's the same great place. Nice some things stay the same. Must eat at top of Dana Point at Restaurant overlooking the Bay. Forgot name but really great prices for food and the normal price of California.

Dana Point is such a beautiful gem! There are so many things to see and do. We had done our research and didn't check much off the list since we were so content with everything right there in the harbor. We loved Dana Point very much and will definitely be back to see more!

This place is very rustic and is need of repair but room was clean and beds were comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi are nice we enjoyed them. The breakfast was a nice touch! Good value and great location..nothing fancy!

Loved everything, the staff were all excellent. Carmen, Dano, Erin, Tony manager, Brandi, all were friendly helpful and welcoming. The entire staff were all excellent, including the cooks, and housekeepers. We had a blast and had the time of our lives.

Room was ok. Older room. Tv wasn’t easy to figure out. I know most places don’t match the pictures online but this one didn’t. I switched to this hotel to at least use the hot tub which I was told wasn’t working when I got there. It wasn’t posted online that it was broke. He said it just happened. He then said he would try to fix it. He said he did but when we got our bathing suits on and stepped in it was very cold. I wouldn’t stay again but the staff were nice enough.
WE LOVED THIS HOTEL!!!!!! FROM START TO FINISH THE HOTEL WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND - WE FELT VERY PAMPERED HERE - THE STAFF (CATHY) WAS AMAZING AND EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. THE ROOM WAS AMAZING AND THE BED FELT LIKE A CLOUD. WE HAD A PATIO SUITE AND THE VIEWS WERE AMAZING. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AND LOOK FORWARD TO GOING BACK!!!
Waldorf Astoria in Dana point, is an excellent choice for a couple's getaway! Me and my wife were celebrating 15 year wedding anniversary. From pulling into the main entrance, you are warmly greeting with a smile and excellent service. This property is very beautiful and we look forward to returning in the future!
The breakfast was that of a typical low end hotel. Dehydrated eggs, waffle machine, bagels, etc. several things to choose from, just lower end. The towels were clean and soft. It was located where were didn't have to travel. Could walk to restaurants and marina.
The dana point harbor area is nice but they are preparing to tear down a lot of the harbor and build new. This classic hotel is one of the things that is getting torn down. The hotel is close to everything but the hotel is not in good condition.
The room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the location and view of the ocean.
It was easy to access many fun activities from the hotel. Dana Harbor was close and it was easy to access the ocean over the walking bridge over the highway.
Very seldom when you travel does a hotel exceed your expectations. The Blue Lantern and especially the wonderful stuff accomplished this. My wife and can’t wait to return.

We stayed in Dana Point for a whale/dolphin watch tour the next morning and the hotel was very conveniently located for that (walking distance).
Pool/hot tub were nice.
The price, a friendly welcome, bed was comfortable, room size was very good. the bathroom was not that great, but clean and renewed. Compared to pricier options in the area this hotel is not that bad at all
The location was great, it's right on the harbor close many shops and restaurants at the marina. The breakfast served at the hotel was good; they had coffee and bagels, make your own waffles, fruit, etc.
Staff were polite and hard working good position in dana point for access to beach town and freeways. Christine on reception was first class happy bubbly and extremely helpful
The location was great to walk to Doheny Beach and Dana Point Marina. Plus, it was a short drive to places like Newport Beach or San Clemente Pier. Great central location.
