A few days before, we stayed at the Motel 6 in Albuquerque, which was a dismal dump (you can probably find our review somewhere around.)
Staying here restored our faith in the Motel 6 brand!

They had a waffle maker and laundry. At this stage of our trip the laundry room was great. It was also on the edge of town closest to Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Nation Parks.

This trip was a Bucket List trip for my husband, who has Pancreatic Cancer. He really wanted to take this adventure together, so we did. The elevators are a Game Changer for those with disabilities. The Park Rangers were fantastically helpful. We took the shortest tour, but we did find plenty of places for my husband to rest as we went. Everyone who worked there was lovely.

I love the river next to the park and my family enjoys the beach area every time we visit. On my last visit I was expecting to ride the boat that tours the river but it was not available, I hope it's available time, but Carlsbad its a beautiful town.

Carlsbad Caverns is one of the greatest of the national parks. No way will you leave disappointed. Schedule your tickets as early in the day as possible to avoid crowds. Some fine restaurants in the city - we ate at the Trinity, excellent food & drink!!
It’s new, modern. There was ample parking. The lobby area was inviting, plenty of comfortable seating, and very clean. It’s easy to get to, close to restaurants, and conveniently close to Carlsbad National Park (25 miles). The king room was nicely decorated with a seating area. All staff we encountered we very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was decent - the normal eggs, meat, potatoes, waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, etc. The outdoor pool area was not open at the time of our visit.
Clean room, good room facilities, walking distance from a couple of decent restaurants and easy access to Walmart etc just a few minutes drive.
Good distance from Carlsbad Caverns NP which was the reason we were staying in Carlsbad.
