The staff were excellent and responsive in the extreme. We had initially some problems with the television, and a man came and fixed it for us, knowledgeably and with a great attitude. Later, our heating unit was blowing mostly cold air, and when my husband mentioned it the next morning, they moved us to a completely different room that was working quite well, and they added a couple of extra blankets! I'm a few months post surgery, so having such a caring response helped immeasurably. Every staff member just seemed to go the extra mile.

It is a very small quaint town, with some of the best places to eat. But what everyone should know most is their fabulous donut shop. The donut shop has a large variety of donuts. There is a flavor that is sure to please just about anyone. The best in my opinion was the Strawberry shortcake. The donut shop also offers sandwiches too. If ever in Buchanan you got to try the Donut Stop.

It is a beautiful place, the downtown area is thriving.
It is a beautiful place, the downtown area is thriving. Food and Walmart are all within 1 mile. Other attractions are 1 hour away. Unseasonably warm in February, but it happens everywhere. Don’t expect to get cell service everywhere as the mountains block the towers. Friendly people, but judgemental of “outsiders”, don’t let it bother you.

I enjoyed staying on Main Street in Buckhannon in the Bicentennial Inn. It is a quaint historic small town with a lot of charm. I had lunch with family at the B&L restaurant which had a delicious baked steak and the most friendly service. Twice during my stay I had family members join me for dinner at the 88 restaurant inside the inn. They too had delicious food with large portions and exceptional service. Buckhannon is a lovely place to stay if you are traveling through West Virginia. I highly recommend it. Every person I’ve encountered had made me feel welcome and like family.
This is a consistently nice place to stay. It is safe and usually very quiet and is always very clean. The delicious and filling morning breakfast is back in action after brief lull due to Covid 19. Thank you for 5 years of stays as our child attended nearby Wesleyan College. It was a nice time in Buckhannon for all of us over the years. We will plan a visit sometime in the future to this charming city. Thank you.
The room was spacious, CLEAN, quiet and comfortable. They had a large variety to choose from at breakfast, and the breakfast area was very clean also. Check in staff was very friendly and pleasant. I just was very impressed after a year of traveling more than usual. This was the 8th hotel I have been in for the past 6 months, and it was the most comfortable and clean of them all!
A brown bag take away was offered. Coffee/ juice was available at all times. The staff was great.
When making reservation, a special rate was offered due to the purpose of the trip was a death in family.
After checkout we realized we had left a watch behind. After notifying the hotel, the staff returned the watch promptly.
From the retro exterior to the updated rooms, this place is a gem! Close to good restaurants and easy to get to. The rooms are spacious, clean, and updated. If you're in the Buckhannon area, this is where you want to stay!
Location. Easy to find. Onsite parking. Easy walking into Main Street & restaurants. Quiet on Friday & Saturday evenings. Practically no bugs out at night in Buckhannon! Great since I'm a mosquito & gnat magnet!
When I booked it online the whole process went fine when I get to the hotel the hotel has been closed down for more than a year so I was very inconvenienced
