Only that the staff was quick to respond to the many issues I faced with the first room, which had 4 or 5 broken parts (2 lights out, broken coffee machine, broken lockbox, broken toilet paper dispenser), and finally put me in a new room. But at both locations there was extreme weed smell in the hallway, despite this being a nonsmoking hotel. Neighborhood is sketchy. Pretty much ruined my trip here for a political conference.

Immortalized in popular music, culturally diverse Brooklyn has achieved almost legendary status. On the western end of Long Island, across the East River from Manhattan, this huge NYC borough is so densely populated that if it were its own city, it would rank as the 4th largest in the US!
The borough is connected to Manhattan by 3 bridges: Williamsburg, Manhattan and the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. It's also connected to Staten Island by the lengthy Verrazano Narrows Bridge. Ocean-going liners pass under here before docking at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook. To the northeast, Brooklyn Bridge Park has some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline, while southeast is the huge Prospect Park.
On one edge is Brooklyn Museum, the country’s 2nd largest art gallery, and just behind is the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens whose cherry trees bloom a vibrant pink. To the east are some hotels near JFK Airport, and there are more in neighboring Queens.
At Brooklyn’s southernmost tip, Coney Island’s historic boardwalk has appeared in several films. Renovations are underway to bring it back to its former glory, and the revamped Luna features a historic wooden roller coaster. Also historic is the northern Greenpoint district with its elegant 19th-century houses.
Cheap Brooklyn hotels are great alternatives to accommodations in Manhattan, so check Booking.com for the best deals.

Brooklyn is my home town, so im very familiar with how to get around. This hotel happen to be walking distance to one of my favorite bargin stores of all time.
This hotel has a bus stop right in front of it that take you express into the city. During my stay i would walk the few block to the train station and once i was done with my day in the city i would take the express bus straight to the hotel, what a luxury.
I always enjoy my time in New York !

Brooklyn is one of the most diverse places on Earth.
Brooklyn is one of the most diverse places on Earth. Old, new, rich, not-so-rich. Every cuisine and kind of neighborhood. Prospect Park is in great shape and safe. The new(ish) waterfront parks by the Brooklyn Bridge and Brooklyn Heights are in super condition and have great view of lower Manhattan. Walking the bridge is a really highlight. So much more reasonable than staying in Manhattan too, and just a really short subway ride to all the best lower Manhattan attractions and neighborhoods. People have a lot of crazy ideas that big cities are bad and broken in the USA. It’s just not true in Brooklyn. It’s a great place that’s better than it was 20-30 years ago.

Amazing view of the bridge and the Manhattan skyline,...
Amazing view of the bridge and the Manhattan skyline, especially when timing with the sunset. Plenty of places to eat. We had a 10 minute walk from our hotel in Dyker Heights to the nearest subway and there were loads of shops, eating places and cafes - including the likes of Victoria's Secrets and Saphora, so I expect the area to be growing and becoming more popular.

NYC what can i say? so much!
NYC what can i say? so much! Not only does BK have a vibe of it's own, it has different vibes. As a former resident, I look forward to doing all of the things that I never did when I lived there. Botanical gardens is next on the list.
The hotel has a unique and appealing vibe to it, and they provide some facilities to support that. The location is very good and the neighborhood is clean and safe. It is also close to 2 metro stations that can easily take you to 2 major spots in Manhattan. It is also within walking distance of Brooklyn bridge.
We liked the floor-to-ceiling windows of the room that gave us enough view of the city.
The hotel was spotless. Staff was very kind and helpful. Beds were super comfortable and the location was excellent. It was our NY vacation with our two years old. The room was a little bit small for us but super practical and we had everything we needed. Definitely coming back and I strongly recommend it. Location is superb to talk the bus to downtown Brooklyn or the train to Manhattan
.
The hotel is located in a convenient area. The hotel has all the amenities that you may need. There are restaurants close by. The hotel does not have a parking, but a parking garage is literally next door (30 seconds away). We stayed at this hotel, because it was close to the wedding place we had to go to, and the price was cheaper than other hotels close by. I would stay here again.
I love the location of it; there were parks and beautiful views of the Williamsburg bridge. It wasn’t hard to find parking either. It’s such a quirky location.
The room is really cute. They do have a stocked fridge for you with no charge. The can of water is a nice touch. The view of Brooklyn was absolutely beautiful; I got to watch the sunrise from my bed and wowza.
We were surprised how expensive New York hotels have become but we eventually found Henry Norman in Brooklyn and found it to be a real treat. The hotel offers a low cost very acceptable breakfast and although no evening restaurant, the Brooklyn area is plastered with cheap, very good takeaways which although not the Ritz were safe, fun and even quirky.
Great location for Brooklyn and cruise terminal. The hotel was comfortable, safe, and had a very helpful staff. Breakfast was not great so I didn't eat much at all. One of the beds had sheets which seemed worn and not very nice. Otherwise the hotel was great value and a pleasant place to stay in the locality.
Cleanliness is number one for me, then their coffee lounge where you can access it 24 hrs and their breakfast buffet has many varieties. This hotel was our 3rd one during our 1 week vacay in NYC, this is the cheapest also but it was the best among the 3 hotels we got. Highly recommended
Great location, friendly staff, excellent restaurants and even though the rooms are small, they are well thought out, functional, stylish and quiet. The bed is super comfortable too! Having stayed in a number of hotels in Williamsburg, this is definitely the best value for money.
The most amazing part of this hotel is not the incredible price, or the excellent location -- it's how quiet it is! I could not believe I was staying in the heart of Brooklyn. Great to have a quiet night after a busy day of exploring NYC. Could not have been a better choice.
Very nice property and I really like the feel of most of these Indigo hotels. This one exceeded my expectations. Really nice bar on the 4th floor with views of lower Manhattan. The L train is right on the corner for a quick trip to Manhattan. Great Brooklyn vibe!
The Penny is a gem! The room was compact and well appointed; plus it was immaculate. The staff was exceptional. I have stayed at The Penny several times and will continue to do so. it is my favorite hotel in Williamsburg.
Pretty big room for the price and a comfortable bathroom. The hotel is located among a lot of places I wanted to visit. Walking distance of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge and Barclay's Center. The bed was comfortable.
many shops in short walking distance
many restaurants in short walking distance
subway just 30m on sidewalk
lively quarter -the best in Brooklyn & near Williamsburg
great views out of front windows :)
Fantastic location, within walking distance to Brooklyn Bridge and shopping. Hotel had great facilities such as bar, pool and spa. Our executive family room was a great size with 2 beds and a sofa bed.
Nice newish hotel in a good location in Brooklyn. The room was clean and had everything we needed, there was paid parking available at the hotel as well. Overall a decent choice for the area.
I really enjoyed the unique feel of the hotel. The ambiance was great and the staff was really nice. Location was great, made it easy to get around NYC relatively cheap on uber
