The room and bed were very comfortable. The lovely ladies who cleaned our room were very helpful. The breakfast was adequate, fresh and nicely presented everyday. The lady who attends to the breakfast room ensured that everything was clean and refreshed continuously. The pool was open.

The Peerless Hotel, hotel in Ashland

Featuring a shared lounge, terrace and views of city, The Peerless Hotel is located in Ashland, 500 metres from Ashland Library.

The hotel is beautiful. The staff were very responsive and helpful going out of their way. Having access to the huge jacuzzi bath after long days walking was wonderful. The location is a 5 to 10 min walk to the main street through a pretty neighbourhood, I'm disabled and could manage it everyday multiple times. You have access to a common area which was empty most of the time. WiFi was fast. Check in was easy and when we had to contact to innkeeper, she responded within seconds. She let me use facilities that were not public and sent me restaurants that could cater to my allergies. She let us know about a local tour we might be interested in and was all round a legend of an innkeeper.

What ruined our stay in Ashland was where we stayed.

What ruined our stay in Ashland was where we stayed. We made reservations through Booking.com at Stratford Inn. We were given a ADA room even though I specifically chose a non-ADA room. I explained to them I did not make reservations for an ADA room and requested to be moved. I was told the hotel was full and that is what Booking.com showed for our reservation. She also explained that when using Booking.com there is no guarantee of the room you’re going to get. She suggested that next time I should call the hotel directly. I already did a review a few weeks ago of the hotel stay through Booking.com. Booking.com must have contacted the hotel because the hotel wrote to me saying I could have asked to be moved (which I did ask, but had been told the hotel was full!). So I guess I won’t be using Booking.com anymore!

Ashland of course is all about the OSF.

Ashland of course is all about the OSF. The area is near mountains, vineyards, golf courses and about 2 hours drive from beautiful Crater Lake. There are many varied restaurants and boutique shops. The people of Ashland are very friendly and helpful, especially if one must walk with a cane. The city tries hard to avoid speeding by cars but some drivers are just careless. We especially enjoyed our breakfast at Winchester Inn and our dinner at Hearsay. The staff at Winchester Inn is superb as is its location. From past years the breakfast/brunch at Morning Glory is worth the wait as it takes no reservations.

The room was too expensive for a quick overnight visit.

The room was too expensive for a quick overnight visit. I have always recommended Bard’s inn. The staff is terrific. The views from the bldg where I always stay are lovely. And, having the garage adjacent to the elevator is maximum convenience. For passing thru en route to a family or work event, my room was too costly. I must restrict my future visits to special occasions to see the plays.

Quaint town. Neighborhoods and housing were nicely kept.

Quaint town. Neighborhoods and housing were nicely kept. I loved the layout and PNW-mountainy feel. Cute downtown areas with both a modern and traditional feel; i.e., modern amenities with a small-town feel. I didn't know there was a Shakespeare festival every year and would love to come back during this time. It's also a great place for outdoor activities like skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, etc.

The staff is always extremely informative and will greet you with a kind smile. The location of this hotel is perfect walking distance to many excellent restaurants and the theatre. It is also dog friendly if you are travelling with a fur companion. We have stayed here many time and I would highly recommend this hotel!

We love Asland and the downtown area, and the shops, and restaurants and Caldera Brewing Company too. It is close to many wineries also, and attractions. If you like plays there may be something playing outside or inside that you like. We like the fact that there isn't a sales tax on most items too. We like Medford with it's Fred Myers grocery stores, and Harry and David with their food, and wine tastes. We love Jacksonville also and the Union Patio Bar and Grill where we eat on the outside patio, and their food is delicious, and they have a great happy hour over by 5PM, however, and the town is very historical. We drove to Lake of the Woods from there and it was nice to see that area with views of Mt McLaughlin, and a restaurant and bar area, and campgrounds, and boating and swimming. Crater Lake National Park is drivable from there, but it would be a longer drive. Grants Pass is also not very far, and there are many wineries there too.

The staff was exceptionally helpful, cheerful and friendly. Breakfast was fabulous. The room was very clean. the location was better than any of the places we've stayed in Ashland. We come to Ashland quite often and own properties there. Bard's Inn suited us even better than some of the more expensive places we've stayed there EVER!

Breakfast was large. Two courses. The first course was a little sweet for my taste. Room was fine. Likely to stay here again for future visits to Ashland (unless I can score a friend's house).
