Best Western Ramkota Hotel Aberdeen, hotel in Aberdeen

Conveniently located off North Highway 281, this hotel offers comfortable accommodations and contemporary facilities just under 1 mile from Wylie Park and Storybook Land Theme Park in Aberdeen, South...

We booked a courtyard view, which was nice. We sat in the courtyard during our stay . Because we were unable to utilize the pool / hot tub area. I will get to that in a minute. The room was clean, and the bed was comfy. But the walls were thin. You could hear kids squealing from across the hall through the doors that led to the pool area. Which was buffered by yet another hall! It was so disturbing that I had to call the front desk to see if they could address it. It only stopped for a few minutes. And in a minute you will understand why!

Main attraction we went to was Wylie Park.

Main attraction we went to was Wylie Park. One might think it’s just for little kids but we have a 17 year old son and we all enjoyed riding a family bike, kart racing, walking around Storybook land, and having a picnic lunch near the lake.

Storybook Land and Wylie Park are musts to visit, especially if you have kids with you. They are always adding rides, displays and schedule fun activities, like the plays in the castle. Check the calendar for events in Aberdeen as they have fun things to do downtown or with the Arts community, too. There are some interesting places to shop and eat downtown. Not sure if there is much left in the mall on East Highway 12 but it’s good for walking in cold weather. In the summer the waterpark/pool is a great place to head to.

Surprised by size and positive changes to city since last visit. Utilized Toyota Dealer for tire problem and the did a check of rental vehicle. Needed cold weather hat, gloves, and scarf and found them at WALMART. Shopped at Kiestlers (spelling).

Sammy’s Omelet restaurant was family owned and fabulous.. Rooster’s coffee was awesome espresso and atmosphere.

The Super 8 at Aberdeen gave us a good night's rest and some breakfast so we had time to look around the city the next day. This was a "go down memory lane" visit to Aberdeen, not a "go for fun" trip.

It was a clean hotel with friendly staff. The waterslide in the pool was an amazing surprise for my kids! Liked there was actual hand wash (and not just a bar of soap), and all the toiletries, an added plus they were refillable so helping the environment! The breakfast had decent choices and we loved the cinnamon rolls! The courtyard was a nice spot to gather with our family to hang out. Overall a nice stay!

It was very quiet, partly due to the location but also because I was the only guest there. Absolutely no one there in the morning, including any staff. Only 2 of the 4 rooms upstairs were made when i arrived and were still unmade when I left the next day.
