We spent only a day to run around Truskavets and Drohobych.
We spent only a day to run around Truskavets and Drohobych. It was fun and interesting. We enjoyed driving up into Skidnytsa and visiting sites in the Carpathians. This was an easy drive and we used a rental car we got in Lviv from Budget rent a car. The war has no significant impact on these areas and they are very safe in 2023. I will include a picture of St. George Church in Drohobych which was interesting and a UNESCO world heritage site.

Truskavets is a museum under the open sky. Each house, street is unique. Many trees, plants, flowers.
A large park made of the original forest part.
Mineral water pump room with 4 types of water - definitely try it.

Truskavets is a nice city.
Truskavets is a nice city. It has good shopping and great restaurants. The hotels are very basic. Most of the staff at these places don't speak any English or very limited. They don't have English menus either.

Perfect place for the SPA holiday (drinking special mineral water Naftusya), nice Ukrainian food, fresh air and in general very nice place.

I the past this spa resort has seen better days for sure, but it is quickly regaining it`s power. Very good value for your money and highly recommended for a little adventurous traveler. It is a sort of health and SPA „las vegas“ of Ukraine.

If you want to see a Soviet-style spa town, you have to go...
If you want to see a Soviet-style spa town, you have to go to Truskavec. It has all the modern amenities, restaurants, hotels etc., but also some old-style socialist hotels (which have some special shabby chic) and most impressive thing - "mineral water buffet" - a large , long and narrow pavillion building, resembling train station, with dozens of pipes from where you can get very healthy mineral water to drink. Two sorts of water - one smells like petrol, the other like rusty nails with rotten eggs. But they are really good for your health. Really cool town for one-day stop, or at least couple of hours.
It was a surreal but enjoyable experience. The hotel was empty and dimly lit, powered by generators, while the adjacent medical centre was without electricity for much of the day because of outages caused by strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Yet everything functioned smoothly, all services were provided and the buffet dinners in the restaurant on the first floor were so delicious, diverse and elegantly served they will forever top my personal list of the best hotel meals.
It is a picturesque old house located in the private sector of the town. The administrator is so kind that I felt like she was my relative ;-)
My room was on the 2nd floor right under the roof. It had 2 beds and one sofa. Space is more than enough.
You'll have clean linen and a big towel.
The kitchen has a refrigerator, a microwave, an electric teapot, a gas stove.
You can sit on the large balcony: drink, eat, work there.
The toilet and a shower room are separated.
The room was cosy and clean. The restaurant was also nice as well as service. Meals, including breakfasts were quite various, delicious and healthy.
The electricity and internet are just amazing. Despite the blackouts in the whole country, there wasn't a single sign of them.
The whole space and the room is stylish and comfortable.
The staff is friendly and hostile. We received a little gift when leaving.
I liked everything. The hotel is located on the edge of a large car free zone. Google maps sent me stubbornly always in the car free zone. The friendly staff gave me a guide to go with me in the car, so I was able to reach the hotel by car easily with the help of the guide and I was able to park in front of the hotel. Well done !
They came into my situation, i was very frustrated about the room, i ve booked because I didn’t know it has nothing to do with pictures, looked horrible, so they did little discount and i stayed in the room higher level than standard, thanks to Marina in reception, she called her manager and tried to help me to stay in the hotel.
Ive booked the room for four people, including kids, and in the hotel staff asked me to pay extra value. So, totaly Ive spent $200, with lanch cost $50, per day without night stay. I don’t know who’s problem is it, booking.com or hotel stuff… But by the way…$200 per day?! ))) In Truskavets… Not even 3 stars hotel?! )))))
The first time I was staying in this hotel 4 years ago. Staff is amazing. They make you feel like a very special friend. One time I returned late and hungry. Cafe was closed, but staff was still there. They cooked something for me and brought it into my room. Love this place.
verry nice staff, nice atmosfere, clean room & bath. Hotel is on the outskirts of the town. Truskavets is small town , so it wasn’t serious problem. The minibar freezer is in the rooms. electric iron and iron board on request. The "red stown" has its own small parking facilities.
Modern design apart hotel, all fixtures in appartment are at high standards, fantastic experience! Spotless accommodation in central part of Truskavets. Great location with range of cafes and shops. Would recommend! Thank you for outstanding service provided by host Roman. 👌
Very comfortable hotel on a quiet street. My room was clean, well furnished, with a small but comfortable workplace. Excellent breakfast and service. The staff was very friendly and kind which is important during these hard times. Thank you very much!
This hotel has everything that you might need for a comfort stay for a night or several. Rooms are big, light and comfortable. Playground and kids' room, bar, restaurant (meals were really good), parking, etc.
I had a great stay, it is an amazing hotel near the center of Truskavets, great value for the money, very clean and quiet. Nazar was very helpful, friendly and spoke perfect English!
